I wonder what would happen if you restricted fair access to game tickets only that day.

I have been saying for years that fair admission on game day should be doubled.

  • Funny.  While sitting there during the game for the 47th time, I was thinking of what a perfect stadium it is.  Love the Cotton Bowl.  In fact, I miss when they had those metal chairback seats and you

Without the OU game, the state fair would most probably cease to exist.

I didn’t even know it was the state fair. I just thought it was a month long tailgate for the game.

This was from 3 games ago, but they had one person trying to scan tickets to get into stadium at the gate we were entering and it was taking forever.  People were just either blowing past them by maneuvering around this barrier or college kids were scaling this ledge that was after the ticket check point.   Cop stationed there gave zero fucks about any of it and could not be bothered to restore some semblance of order.

It should not be too hard to make some improvement to the entry/ticket scanning process.

i clicked through to the article just to make sure there wasn't a typo......

this quote is probably the best evidence ever documented in history demonstrating the incompetence of the people that run the fair......

"148,300 going to the football game".......

cotton bowl capacity: 92,100

how can they be off by 56k?

and sorry hornbri, you slept yourself missing the above

+++

if 193k is a real number for that day, and they are not counting staff, media, ops, vendors, etc.....

then 101k is the number for 'potential lost attendees' if they made the fair "game only" for that day which is 5% of their attendance this year

adults this year were $29 all-in

tack on an additional $29 to all game tickets and lock it down at the perimeter - no game ticket or no fair credential? - not getting in

if you pay to park and then leave before kickoff you get your money back at the exit

I actually saw that, and just figured that they let 50k people sneak in ;)

I know they didn’t actually let that many into the game, I am guessing they had 193k people that day, and only sold 45k tickets at $29 bucks. The Other 55k just walked in since no one bothered to check game tickets at the entrance to the fair (at least our entrance).

But it is shitty journalism so who knows.
