January 18, 20223 yr Huge slate across the league tonight. I have a feeling that we hang with Tech enough to cover the spread, and come tantalizingly close to a win, but come up short. They're just too fucking good right now. I think Baylor in Morgantown is interesting as hell too.

January 18, 20223 yr I think we cover, but I have a really difficult time seeing us win in Lubbock tonight. I think unless Tech basketball reverts, Lubbock has risen into that top tier of toughest places to play with Allen and Hilton. Bramlage and WVU Coliseum can get up there, but not as consistent, and I think GIA's glory days are as dead as disco.
January 19, 20223 yr Add this to the flowchart: opposing team hits a devastating dagger three >>> play Boomer Sooner.
January 19, 20223 yr This team has gone from 100-0 in offensive team chemistry in no time. It's weird.
January 19, 20223 yr I’m not convinced there are 2 better defenses in the country. It’s traumatic watching these teams pummel each other.Jaz in foul trouble could open things up though
January 19, 20223 yr Missing open 3s and going 0-fer from the stripe ain’t gonna get you a road win in this league
January 19, 20223 yr All 10 teams in the Big XII are in the Top 40 defenses in the country. indictment of shitty offenses... or straight up badass defense?
January 19, 20223 yr It's some of both. Mostly badass defense, but also there is ugly offense played across the board in the league for the most part.
January 19, 20223 yr 3 pt lead at half by Tech is largest by either team. sloppy at times, but the defense by both squads is off the chain. Edited January 19, 20223 yr by slorch
January 19, 20223 yr We’ve missed a bunch of open shots tonight, but that begs the question of what kind of effect aggressive defense has on a shooter mentally.

Just look at Kevin Obanor, he's a career like 44% 3 point shooter and 80% FT shooter. Joins Big 12, immediately drops to close to 30%. He didn't immediately become a bad shooter, it's just way tougher in this league.

January 19, 20223 yr I swear I hate it more when Tech gets fouled than I do if they just let them play. This team just can't shoot FTs.
January 19, 20223 yr This one might be starting to get away from us. We had opportunities early on and couldn’t convert. You only get so many of those against a team like Tech.

January 19, 20223 yr Iowa State hits up with TCU on the next game. That'll get em back on the winning track. Disagree with our fans chanting, 'overrated." Cyclones are legit. Edited January 19, 20223 yr by slorch

January 20, 20223 yr OSU holds at home against TCU Nice sequence of plays by Tech transfer Tyreek Smith at the end to help them win the game
January 20, 20223 yr OSU holds at home against TCU Nice sequence of plays by Tech transfer Tyreek Smith at the end to help them win the gameNot sure holds on is accurate. It took a 7-0 run over the last 90 seconds to pull out a 1 point win.
January 21, 20223 yr So the NCAA has a new constitution which provides this little provision. Perfect that it isn't retroactive for OSU, but will ensure that KU never has to face up to anything. To be honest, the "current players didn't participate" argument was never a good one in my opinion. If a program cheats to get ahead and is caught, the program should be punished regardless of when it was discovered. The problem I have with the OSU punishment is that we as a program didn't cheat and got no competitive advantage out of anything that happened. One assistant coach enriched himself through federal crimes for which he was prosecuted. That is why the punishment is so ridiculously absurd. Edited January 21, 20223 yr by 'stache
January 21, 20223 yr Today is the two-year anniversary of the Silvio de Sousa stool incident. Full video in comments. : CollegeBasketball (reddit.com)
January 22, 20223 yr I hate playing Huggins teams. The last 1:30 of this game has taken over 15 minutes. Not even exaggerating a bit. E: 15 minutes, typo Edited January 22, 20223 yr by Brian Fantana
January 22, 20223 yr Between Huggins exploiting the rules of the game to extend it well beyond the norm, and the officials constantly disrupting the flow of this game, it has been miserable to watch. A W is a W is a W but come the fuck on man I get so sick of this shit playing against WVU

January 22, 20223 yr Gotta give Bruce Weber credit, this is exactly how you have to play Kansas. Their interior defense is very weak so you can basically get any opportunity you want from the floor by driving on them every possession.

January 22, 20223 yr KSU v KU is fun. Making me feel better about Tech’s play last week in Manhattan.
