lulz.  I know Rudy's isn't top 50 level barbecue, but their spicy chop is plenty edible and costs barely half that amount.

Only thing I ever ordered at Rudy's. Also a standard at Ruby's BBQ off Guadalupe back in the day. Theirs was extra spicy.

Don't think I ever went to Ruby's before midnight.

It feels like there was an alley connecting it to Antone's back stage entry?  I can't remember if it was gated off.

Went to KG BBQ with my son last night.  We each got brisket rice bowls and a lamb chop.  Delicious.

EDIT - the lamb chop was the best piece of lamb I have ever eaten.

As was the beer at Oddwood.

Dang.  I think I know where I'm getting dinner.

Yeah - it was a treat, for sure.

When we walked up, the menu claimed to be out of lamb chops, but the hostess said, "we have 4 secret lambchops left, want some?"  Uh, sure.  Holy smokes!

After eating that, I will admit I was a little slow finishing my 2nd beer.  I pushed through, though :).

I had the "Ethics and Standards" IPA, and thought it was great.

What time did you get there?  I specifically want the lamb chops, at least for my wife.  How big are they?

Yesterday, we got there at around 715pm, so I do not know what time they "officially" ran out of the lamb chops (but had found a few secret ones).

The pan in the picture is around 9" x 12", so the lambchops are around 5"-6" from the beginnging to teh end of the meat and around 2" wide.  I'd guess i was around 1.5" thick.  When I got it, I thought "kinda small" but after that and the bowl, I was stuffed.

$8.50 for one lamb chop.  And the bowl was $18.50.

I love KG, but that is a long way from barbecue.  I bet it's good, though.

@HenryJames have you tried Parish Barbecue which is a half block up the road?

It's literally bbq. It is just mixed in with the most delicious rice in the world.

I make brisket fried rice but don't consider it barbecue.  It's fried rice with smoked meat.

One of my favorite things to make is beef stroganoff with leftover brisket. I guess I'll just call that bbq too.

Sounds good to me.

Y'all could screw up an orgy.

I mean…..there’s probably a LOT of things you come do to screw up an orgy.
“Hey, I spiked all the lube with jalapeño juice!” for example.

I was gonna say, we had us a nice thread here once.

Also, isn't screwing up in an orgy just part of it?

Tobasco

Anyone with any recommendations on arrival time for 2m smokehouse in SA? Thinking about going tomorrow morning but not sure if we need to get there early and wait.

the thought of beef stroganoff with moist brisket and burnt ends as the protein is somewhat arousing, tbh

KG's brisket bowl is legitimately one of the top 5 dishes in Austin at the moment. It's outstanding, and somehow even better as leftovers.

2M. Brisket was fantastic. Better than Reese Bros or Pinkertons. Pork sausage was great. Beef sausage was meh at best. Weird texture. Ribs were real solid

is that beef stroganoff mac and cheese?!

Those ribs look great.

They were pretty good. I think Pinkertons has them beat on the ribs, at least for flavor, but the cook was perfect.  Really the cook on everything was great even the sausage that I didn’t like. It’s very clear why they’ve made the top 50 multiple times.

Chopped brisket. I wanted to get the chicarrone mac but my group wanted that instead. Their menu described it as “hamburger helper but better”. It’s was nothing like hamburger helper and was awesome

how do we feel about tuna helper?   growing up I may have enjoyed tuna helper night more than hamburger helper night.

Coopers, New Braunfels (not my pick):

Beans, jalapenos, pickles and onions are the right price. Didn't make up for the BBQ being dry

Moreno Barbecue. 11:15 am and walked straight to the front. Served in 15 minutes.

Smoked burger. Not quite as good as L&L but also didn't wait an hour+
