2004. Texas barely won.

But we did. VY broke Nick Reid's ankles and knees in leading us to the win. That PI on Kansas was also textbook PI. Mangino had to go home and cry on his big pillow.

I was in the house in Lawrence that day.

I always liked Mangino even through the bitchassedness. The big Kansas v Mizzou game that they moved to Kansas City seems like almost a lifetime ago

You're right, but it's notable that Texas was down to a 4th and 18 against Kansas - especially a good team not the Charlie crap.

Kansas should have kept Mangino, bow the schools' athletic director was fired today...

KU firing Mangino was equivalent to Tech firing Leach. The best coaches either of those schools will ever see.

So? It's hard to be up every week. We were flat all that afternoon until VY pulled some magic out of his hat. Good teams do what it takes to win, even in the last minutes of games.

That Kansas team was probably a lot better than the one the beat Charlie.

I was in a wedding party that day.  We were watching the game sweating it out as to whether the game would end before the ceremony started.  Friend is a football fan but not a good one.

For Mizzou fans, it was two lifetimes ago; as they now take annual beatings to teams they never really played out of conference...

I went to our game at Akron last fall, and that shit was everywhere.

It was often on tap next to Rhinegeist beers.  Given their odd choice for a tap handle, we dubbed the combination Klangino.
