I am not sure if this qualifies but Painkiller came out at the very end of their best period and arguably be their best song. 

And I just love this song.

 

 

 



I consider this after their prime. Fucking rocks though.

The cult from 2017.  Good lead by Duffy too.

 

I don't know about "way past their prime" but this was a good tune while REM was definitely in the twilight of their prime.
