im pretty sure all nfl teams have a 'mr wolf', and all players are given that number for situations just like this.

'im too drunk to drive, call mr wolf'

Shouldn't he have someone like that in his posse?  Did he completely ignore Cris Carter?

No, I had a daughter who passed away in 2007, and my fur buddy this past May.  He was literally the only one who helped me through the pain of losing Hannah. He was all I had left.

  • How hard is it to get a fucking Uber.  This hits home to me because my good family friends just lost their mother after a fucking drunk driver ran her over while she was walking in her own neighborhoo

100% correct and the team has something set up also. I know for a fact, the texans offer this service to the players

Quite piling on us insurance guys. (And I'm not 50 yet!!!!!! I shit you not, today is my 49th birthday.) [emoji1787]
Oh so you're friends with Rocko..

How am I supposed to stay engaged with this story if there isn't a monkey?

Donte Stallworth and Josh Brent both played in the NFL after their DUI vehicular manslaughter incidents. So it’s not the NFL’s first rodeo.

At this point, the optics look worse for Ruggs IMO.

Victim in Stallworth's case was sprinting across the street absent any crosswalk.

Brent's passenger was also drunk and not wearing a seat belt.

Neither poor decision making excuses Stallworth or Brent, but we have no reports that the victim in Ruggs case was doing anything wrong or dangerous.

Such a horrible situation. What a senseless death.

22 years old, famous, rich, all the woman you want and living in Las Vegas. Now out of a job, felon, and a killer. Don’t drink and drive folks. Heard it was a young woman who died, tragic.

Want to hear more about why the players might be wary of the league/ team provided transportation?

Yes

sorry, I meant to say I wanted to hear more.  Some folks mentioned it on Page 1.

I haven’t driven drunk since Uber became a thing.  No excuse anymore.

you can't logically figure out why some people might be wary of their employer knowing exactly when and how often they get shitfaced?

Ruggs certainly chose the high road...

when I was younger I did drive drunk some, but I stopped drinking for 9 months when I was 18 (drinking age was already 21 by then) then started again Halloween and then quit until I was 36 after Round Up my freshman year when I figured out that (not yet) fat, drunk, and stupid was no way to stay enrolled at UT

I did drive with a few drunks after that, but I did a shit load more designated driving including a few times when the cops gave us a pretty nice break for other shit because I was driving sober and all my friends were fucked up beyond belief

back then even in major Texas cities traffic was not total shit especially at night so driving and being able to go where I wanted (while ignoring drunks screaming "go here go there") and getting what I wanted to eat was a bonus to be able to drive

these days who in the fuck wants to drive in big city traffic drunk or sober and no matter what car you have shit I would have someone drive me around in big city traffic all day every day if I could...so being well off, drunk, and in a crowded traffic filled place like Vegas I would be calling for a car as often as possible especially if they had to drive my drunk ass where I wanted to go whenever I wanted

I would take the fast car out to BFE on Tuesday afternoon or some shit like that to open it up and actually drive the damn thing not sit in fucking traffic waiting to get hit by some other drunk, broke dick, with no insurance

Except It was probably the 3rd or 4th time he's done this in the last 2 months. Unlucky driver of the Toyota.

TMZ all over it. Video not for the faint of heart:

Wait, the Texans set up up players with a designated fall guy?    Did Deshawn Watson know about this service?

all this and Uncle Nate is still unemployed

you would think being able to keep John Football out of trouble while at aggy would cement the rep of Uncle Nate as the ultimate man child sitter

Raiders just released him.

Raiders just released him.
He released himself when he decided to hit the start button while hammered.

6 game suspension, max

Was just cut. What a disaster pick for the Raiders

was he hammered or had a couple drinks and driving way too fucking fast? I know someone's dead either way, just wondering.

shit that was a rav4 I thought it was a prius from the first pics on here

that fire melted the damn thing out of shape along with the crash

Mr Wolf would cleanup the mess and make the issue go away after the situation has already happened.

I'm pretty sure the person Stallworth hit was walking on an overpass, right?

Did duane Goodrich kill anyone when he crashed on 35 after leaving silver city cabaret drunk?

erik Williams was a 1 car accident right? Only hurt himself?

Guy who couldn't turn his phone sideways needs to be prosecuted as well.

Rewatching the footage of the car going up in flames. What a horrific way to die.  (Dog in the car died as well.)

going from memory, but I don't think Brent's passenger was drunk or even drank that night, which made it almost more strange that he would not insist on driving.  Also, the victim's family was supportive of Josh and I don't think they wanted to see any jail time for him.  I doubt that is the case with the current crash.

Yeah Goodrich killed two people, one of the guys was someone I went to high school with , super nice guy. Was actually helping someone change a flat tire when it happened

they were actually pulling a guy out of a flaming car after that guy (also plastered drunk) crashed when he clipped the back of a semi trailer

that was part of the goodrich defense that the flames and chaos from the first wreck got in the way of him knowing where to drive

I'm pretty sure it's not a surprise to any team that most of their young, single, multi-millionaire players party their ass off Sunday and Monday nights.   They just don't want them driving.  Hence why ever NFL team has a car service to avoid exactly what happened.  I take your point if this was 4AM Sat AM before a Noon Sunday game but they know these guys let loose early in the week.

So much for the Raiders' infatuation with straight-line speed.

And the NFL was worried mob influence could be its biggest potential problem in Vegas.

looking at some videos and pics he crashed at Rainbow and Spring Valley......Spring Valley is the circle street in this screen capture so he crashed at one of the two intersections circled

that is pretty much in the heart of residential Vegas west of The Strip

You knew it had to be insanely high speed for a rear end collision to cause the damage and fatality that it did. Wow.....so so sorry for that woman.....

terribly sad. unbelievable and perhaps unfair that he survived a crash at 127 MPH.

For real. But at least he will burn in hell.

28 minutes ago, Tailgate said:

Unreal…156 MPH. Cannot imagine the impact that poor woman and dog felt.

They didn't feel anything.

I may be wrong about this but I think the car service is run by the NFLPA, not the NFL, precisely so the players won’t be retaliated against for using it.

In this case it probably wouldn’t have mattered. It seems like he was determined to be a dumbass and nothing was going to stop him.
