As to Ibraheem, I say as Good Christians and Americans we should give any young man who made an innocent mistake in judgment and can cover man-to-man or zone in the Big 12 a second chance.

It's the right thing to do.

Errbody. Hope this doesn’t affect LJ or our RB on the team

I'm sure LJ is shaking in his boots about a PWO with no P5 offers.

Nice.

He was one of the key reasons Westlake won state. Sneaky fast and great ability to turn the corner. Great runner in space and good hands. Took a bunch of little dump off passes to the house the last two years. I was really surprised he wasn't going somewhere like Houston or SMU. Better back than Nokia Watson who is at Wisconsin.

UT is a lot cheaper than Yale.  and the best place to get a degree if you want to live in Texas.

If taking on debt effects his cost benefit analysis it may be a sign he is too intelligent for Yale.

Ivys don’t have athletic scholarships so I assume that if he was going there for free it would be some combination of need based and academic scholarships.  If that’s true, those are available at Texas as well.

Ivys still find ways to get preferred athletes some money

While we wait for Ibraheem's case to resolve, is law enforcement delaying on purpose trying to pressure Ibraheem to provide info on his "friends"?

How could any of us possibly know that? Also, no.

Simple answer is he has politically incorrect ideas on Halloween  costumes, and knows he would run afoul of the right thinking thinkers up there.

I know nothing about this case either, but I rode in a stolen car once as well. Knifed a dude to get it. Threatened his girlfriend. Grabbed some donuts and then drove it into a ditch.

Maybe he's involved in some form of law enforcement or the legal system, and knows how they operate?

This is the weirdest recruitment. I hope this kid doesn't flame out due to having a mental makeup issue.

Really? Is it that weird? It’s not like he’s committed to four different schools or whatever. It’s probably the biggest decision he’s ever made. Some people need 20 minutes looking at a dinner menu.

Your kid must not be a chip off the old block.

He is a thug.

Aside for it absolutely mattering for the nature of the crime whether he had a weapon, if it were your family who fucked up you might care whether they were given a 2nd chance for a stupid decision they made at 17.  I don’t know enough about the kid or the crime to have an opinion on letting him in but summarily throwing him aside because of one fuckup is bullshit.

Days ago a “thug” who was popped dealing drugs in high school that was allowed to enroll announced he was done with football to go to med school.

Because, fuck you.

And he never played so would it have really mattered if we allowed him to come here on scholarship.

I don’t really understand what you are asking but the point isn’t “don’t give kids second chances because they might not ever be starters”.

I bet you $100 in best buy coupons that he’s not going to med school if he didn’t get a scholarship to a good school.

I don't think scholarship money is really an issue - his dad makes 925k per year...  (he's DePaul's HC for basketball). ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

#28198

Didn’t someone look it up and find out that Ibraheem was never even charged for carjacking?

I think his only charge was resisting arrest or something.

Your family member had someone take a ride in their stolen car? That must have been terrifying. Thoughts and prayers
