I can’t take this shit. It’s so humid. I feel like I live in the shithole that is Orlando or something.

Some perspective from SpaceCity:

Speaking of winter heat, how warm has this December been? By the month’s end it will rank not just as Houston’s warmest December in more than 120 years of records, but also among the top 10 warmest Novembers.

Official forecast for the latter half of the weekend keeps dropping. Now supposed to hit 36 overnight Saturday into Sunday and get down to freezing overnight Sunday in Houston. Austin, DFW and SA all looking to dip into the mid 20's at times. Permian Basin and Panhandle gonna see anywhere from 10 to 20 below freezing on Saturday night.

Oh, great an 80* humid bowl of Cedar soup...in late December.

We are truly blessed Tiny Tim, one and All!

Why is it still so god damn hot outside?  85 degrees at 4:00 the last week of December is some fucking bullshit.

No this is bullshit

I think MLK weekend should bring a nice Autumnal vibe to Austin.  Before we go crashing into Winter and moving straight on into Summer by mid-February.

Forecast shows a high of 87 on NYD and a low of 37 that night/morning of the 2nd.  Cool, cool.

#220

60 degree shift in 18 hours?

The New Year's Baby was angry that day my friends.  Like an Old Man New Year trying to send back soup at a deli.

I played golf yesterday and have a 9am time on Sunday. I only have 20 years or so left on this earth, so I am ok with our plan of destruction.

Followed by 93 Monday afternoon?

~50 more hours of the exact same bullshit to go in Houston. Low 80's, overcast and muggy AF.

A week straight of weather like this sucks in April. It's a biblical plague in December.

I guess Houston sucks but in Dallas this week has been awesome. Mid to low 70s, light cool breeze, and mostly sunny. Tripping me out to go to get groceries in shorts and flip flops in December.

I wouldn't mind way milder summers than usual and milder winters than usual then a couple of big cold blasts in January/ Feb before back to 60s and 70s March becoming the norm.

#227

That said looking forward to Sunday when for the first time this season will get to light up some of that ton of firewood the wife made me panic stock after last Feb's St Valentines Day deep freeze.

#228

Uh, where you been storing all that firewood for 10+ months?  Tread lightly.

#229

Please don't tell me you've been storing it up against the house, in the garage, or anywhere close to anything else of value?  Is it covered?  You're really gonna wanna check it over before you start hauling it inside.

I know there's no snakes in my wood pile judging by the amount of rats the dogs pull out of it and kill.

#232

It looks like Sunday night/Monday morning are trending colder, showing 25 in SA.

Then another front on Thursday, hitting 25 again Friday morning.

Pets, plants, pipes, pizza, pussy.

Nina, Nino, tomato, tomato.  I took the girls outside to play this morning and I can smell the bourbon in my sweat.  Not a good thing.  I know this heat cycle can be easily explained but it's already 80 degrees with the humidity in my backyard.  Not a great feeling after the wedding reception I had to attend last evening.  I know a cold front is en route but it shouldn't take a record cold front to end the swamp ass I'm already experiencing.

#240

Front needs to quit dawdling on its way to SETX. It's windy as shit, gray and damp here in Houston. Nothing really gonna change around here until sunset. Most people will be asleep before any noticeable temperature drop.

#242

Yeah, Austin's drop won't happen until about 10pm.  Which is fine, we're gonna watch the Peanuts New Year's special outside at dusk.  Then get them to bed.  Heater shouldn't kick on, but my wife is always convinced that upstairs will always mirror the outside temp despite the fact that's 79 up there right now.  They can stay in all day tomorrow and just get ready for getting back to school.  Shit, by Tuesday and Wednesday...this cold front talk will be all over with and we'll back to sending her to school with a second water bottle to stay hydrated for recess.  'Cause you know...80 degrees in January...totes fucking normal.

yeah, it's colder'n fuck up here. 14 degrees at my house. Slight frozen rain/ sleet/ wintry mix overnight but nothing substantial.  Chance of snow this afternoon.

Bring it.

We have tortellini soup on, fridge full of beer. Cabinet full of bourbon, and football all day.

Still cold as hell outside.

Edit: flurries starting now...

I was supposed to be in S Texas this weekend, so I checked the forecast.  It doesn't show a significant drop until tomorrow morning sometime.  I guess I got time to double check the ammo supply for polar bear rounds and stock up on some whiskey.  Now where did I put my seal club?

#245

saw 15 degrees this morning in Amarillo, winds are in full force as well, didn't look to see what the wind chill was.
