How many more signings like this by the Rangers before the Astros' fans shit their pants?

Doesn’t really move the needle, much less the bowels.

Toronto trying to get Jose Ramirez from Cleveland is the rumor on MLBN. Apparently they figured out that a lefty in their lineup wouldn't be a bad thing.

I don’t think anyone, including the Rockies management, understands what the Rockies plan is.

What this post presupposes is…they have a plan?

Joc, with his love of pearl necklaces,  will be a perfect fit in the Castro District.

They sent the Cardinals something like $50M in that trade.

Damn, son.

Call me Vic.  I deserve it.

I don’t get it. Short of Freeman just saying he wanted to move on (which may be the case), with that contract the Braves should have been all over it and kept their prospects.

That’s a lot of me guys and guys that recently sucked, right? I mean, they will probably be a rolling ball of butcher knives, but… maybe not?

done deal, f the dodgers

They still will not win the title. The percentage of teams built through free agency winning it all is low.

If the Astros resign Correa then here is the projected WAR, average wRC+, and wOBA for both the Astros and Dodgers.

Astros average age: 29.6

WAR = 30

wRC+ = 120

wOBA = 0.343

Dodgers average age: 30.4

WAR = 33.3

wRC+ = 124

wOBA = .355

Not much of a difference, and that is assuming the Dodgers stay healthy, they haven't in the last few years. The Astros are projected to get almost nothing from McCormick in CF.

I like how you assume the Astros will be perfectly healthy all year. And that they’ll re-sign Correa.

God, I could have sworn there was an Astros masturbation thread somewhere on this site.

Which is why I said, if they resign Correa. Can you read?

If this post had to do with the Astros, then I would have posted it in the Astros thread. It was a post about the Dodgers chances of buying a championship not being good, but I see the Astros are still in your head. Your team cheated as much if not more than the Astros. Get over it.

Still fascinating how you know no one on the Astros will get hurt all year, while the Dodgers won’t be so lucky.

Damn, you’re dumb. He specifically stated the assumption that the Dodgers stay healthy as well so he could compare apples to apples.

Any stats on if the ghost runner actually shortens games? Can’t find any. Seems like it does, players support it for that reason. Logically though you’d think it’d have no effect since both teams get the same advantage.

In 2021, only 16 games lasted more than 11 innings vs 60 in 2019. However the actual time length of 10 or 11 inning ghost runner games was actually longer than traditional 10 or 11 inning games. Makes sense. Base runners make innings take longer.
A good compromise seems to be to start the ghost runner rule in the 12 inning to help avoid marathon games. It would be like soccer with extra time then penalty kicks if needed.
