Inspired by Rick Beato’s list. These are front to back albums that you can put on a playlist and zone out for 30-40 mins.

This is my list. Your list will be different. Not in any order.

Pearl Jam - Ten

Front to back this album is masterful. Every second brings something. 30 fucking years old now. Would be considered for album of the year in any year.

Depeche Mode - Black Celebration

Changed electronic music. The band found their voice and produced dark classic.

The Smiths - The Queen is Dead

When Morrissey and Marr where at peak 3rd great album in 2.5 years. But best of the 3. Great lyrics and production.

Pink Floyd - The Dark Side of the Moon

You can listen to this on repeat on a 10 hour flight.

Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath

I still can’t figure out how they made this album technically in 1970.

Micheal Jackson - Thriller

Greatest pop album ever made.

Prince - 1999

Prince matured into a hit machine. You could buy me a beer and I would change to Purple Rain.

Fleetwood Mac - Rumours

The band at its peak before so many drugs and crazy sex broke them (not judging).

Guns and Roses - Appetite for Destruction

The best debut rock album of all time.

Beatles - Red Album

Cheat. It’s a compilation album. Don’t fucking care. 20 songs, all perfect. And it was first album I ever owned.

  • 2 weeks later...

King's X - Faith, Hope, Love (Could also say several other albums, but gonna stick to one album per band)

Trapeze - You Are The Music...We're Just The Band

Cry Of Love - Brother

Arc Angels - S/T

Screamin' Cheetah Wheelies - S/T

Dream Theater - Images And Words

Jellyfish - Spilt Milk

Deep Purple - Machine Head

Sugarbomb - Bully

American Bang - S/T

Shit, any Beatles album, so I won't even go there.

I made a point to listen to Rolling Stones Top 20 albums from their top 500 list.  I really don't know the criteria they used. I know they got input/list from a ton of people.  Man are there some stinkers (for my taste) in the top 20.  First one that unlistenable to me was #3 Joni Mitchell-Blue.  It may be heart wrenching and soul touching but her voice is like fingers on chalk board to me.

Off the top of my head

Straight outa Compton
Norah Jones 1st album
Southeastern
License to Ill
Cult - Love
Boston - 1st 2 albums (interchangeable to me)
Back in Black
The Wall
Black Celebration - props to OP
Texas Flood
