First game all year

https://trojanswire.usatoday.com/2021/11/09/usc-game-at-cal-canceled-due-to-covid-19/

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/ncaafb/cals-football-team-was-99percent-vaccinated-before-a-big-covid-19-outbreak-what-happened/ar-AAQyCIw

But 99% of the people involved in the program are vaccinated, according to Cal officials. It’s the first major-college football game in the country postponed this season because of a COVID outbreak.

After that, 24 players and coaches became unavailable for last Saturday’s game at Arizona. The team also put into place a new “testing schedule” prompting all players and staff to get tested again this week, Knowlton said, eventually leading to the discovery of 20 more cases in the program, for a total of 44 lab-confirmed cases.

Because there were more than 20 cases, the outbreak was classified as “major” by Cal-OSHA’s workplace-safety rules. That prompted the university and the city of Berkeley to implement state testing guidance for a major outbreak, which requires twice-weekly tests going forward until there are fewer than three COVID-19 cases detected in the exposed group for a 14-day period. After that, the state guidance is for weekly testing until there are 14 days with no cases.

On the bright side at least the PAC 12 is getting some attention!

Lucky. There's 4 or 5 of those I'd have taken this year.

Players are pissed at the City of Berkeley (per the one contact I have)

The entire city of Berkeley should be pissed at the City of Berkeley (per having visited my in-laws there)

Remember, Aaron Rodgers went to Berkeley.  So they were probably 99% "immunized" not 99% "vaccinated."

Did anyone really want it to be postponed? I think both fanbases are probably over watching their teams this year.

I mean it’s Cali. They are all fucking retarded so it makes sense

Cal has a fanbase?

Move the game to be played in Florida.

Move the game to be played in Florida.

That would improve the state of football in Florida.

And Cali.

I'm not saying shit because I'm not sure we could beat any of those teams.

Wilcox confirmed that only 2 players are unvaccinated for medical reasons.  2 players had originally tested positive and the City of Berkeley required the entire program to be tested.  Thus the huge number of positives including coaches and staff.  All are asymptomatic.  Apparently multiple players had 2 negative follow up tests but the city wouldn’t let them travel to Arizona… thus the anger from the players.  Because all were vaccinated, no one was testing anymore thus the “outbreak”

if the vaccine works why didn't it work? i has the concerns!
The vaccinated tend to be more asymptomatic when they catch the covid. The vaccinated should be more careful...
