built on the back of an easy SEC schedule (hey I remember those accusations just a year ago!)

Don't forget the year before that when we beat Alabama soundly in Tuscaloosa was not the same Alabama that was so good later. Now it's we beat a really good ND!

They're playing with confidence. If the players soak up all the hysteria of the fans, they a short step away from overconfidence. They're about to earn their money, so they better be ready. It's no more, we beat a shitty team worse than tu or OU. They have to win road games that will be tough environments with a couple of good teams in there before they come play Texas.

Yep, they beat a ND team that was breaking in a new QB and had an insanely easy SEC schedule so far - suck ass Auburn (one score win), hapless MSST and about-to-fire-Napier Florida, all at home. 4 of their next 5 SEC games are on the road (Fayetteville, Baton Rouge, Columbia MO, Austin) and 3 of those 4 are ranked teams.

ND was the last ranked team they played, a month ago.

The vaunted SEC grind is here for the aggys.  Will they meet the moment or bumble their way to 8-4?

I see @LSU and @Texas as pretty much certain losses for the Ags.

I'm not sure I see two other losses on the regular season schedule, though.

Still, they do tend to aggy things up.

I liked how they were wearing throwback jerseys last week honoring the 1975 team. The '75 aggy team went to Arkansas undefeated and got trounced.

Nobody thought they'd go to Auburn and lose last year either

They always aggy it up

PSU has a better NIL than aggy?  I would think it would be the other way around or at least pretty equal.

My question would be - what the fuck else is PSU’s NIL money going towards, besides volleyball and wrestling? And those are pretty cheap NIL sports

Aggy still spends NIL money on VB, baseball, softball, T&F, MBB

Not for nothing, but Petrino was 3-0 against aggy when he was at Arkansas before.

49-17, 24-71, and 42-38.

Moss is already listed as OUT for this game, big time loss for that offense.

They must be basing this on their projected record rather than any reality. They don't play Alabama, Ole Miss, or Georgia. They may end up with a better SEC record than those teams therefore they're the best team in the SEC.

The genius of sports pundits.

They may be the third best team in Texas.

I still don't get how they can be in the SEC for 14 seasons and have played Georgia ONCE.  One time.  Uno.  And they have the gall to bitch about easy schedules?

Conversely UGA had essentially a 1 game schedule with a whack ok state esque non conf rival for even longer.

Let's hope so.  I'd hate for the 8-4 dream to perish just because Mizzou couldn't get it up...

I can absolutely see them lose to Mizzou. LSU, I dunno. It's Brain Kelly coaching them, and their offense is almost as dire as ours looks. Nuss is so overrated it's astounding. The defense can roll, tho. If Moss is out for LSU, they might be cooked, regardless of Craver/Concepcion. Reed is average, and LSU'S defense is pretty good. They can get to the QB, same with Missouri.

Meanwhile, Texas will have already played them in Austin, Athens and Atlanta by the time the new schedule format rolls out for 2026 and beyond.

Hell, we played them as many times as aggy has in-conference (1) prior to us even joining the SEC.

It's ridiculous.

Last year, LSU's failure to make any adjustment at all after Reed came in was bizarre.  Just a minimum adjustment, like spying Reed after he burned them for the fourth or fifth time, would've won the game for them.

Yep, I remember. I'm just giving LSU a pass and hope they learn from their mistakes simply because Reed is basically the same player he was last year with better WR's, but he himself hasn't changed. If they can't make adjustments, then Kelly needs to be fired, and so does Baker (I think that's their D coordinator name).

Their offensive is so bad it makes ours look good. LSU sucks gumbo this year on that side of the ball. Unless Nuss has been hurt all year , there's no help coming imo.

That said if it turns into a more of a defensive struggle i'd take LSU , we'll see how important Moss is this week which can lead to new ways to defend a more limited a&m offense

It feels like LSU 2025 is opposite of LSU 2024.  I'm not sure how a team flips its "strengths" so quickly.

Just now, BigHornedLurker said:

They at least have more than one RB that can tote the rock, in Durham and Berry. If nothing else, they can lean on the run game. I do concur about the passing game, and Nuss is not good. He's never been and I'll never understand why he ever got hyped up. Dude has thrown for a paltry 9 TD's with 5 INT'S, which makes Arch Manning look like Peyton in comparison. The only difference being Manning has thrown only 162 passes with a comp % of 66.1, for 1,317 yds, while Nuss has thrown 204 for 1 417 with a comp % of 68.1. A whole 100 yards more, exactly.

Totally separate tangent here -

I'm as big of a Wisner homer as there is, but he simply cannot keep taking a pounding. He's quite literally our only RB right now. Clark and Simon are both frosh and haven't adjusted to the game, Gibson is gone, and Baxter may be dead for all we know. We literally need Manning to do both our passing and be our second RB.

Game is in Baton Rouge, LSU has yet to lose a home game against the Ags since they joined the SEC, even when LSU has fielded mediocre-to-bad teams.   This year won't be any different.

Arky scored 42 points on aggy……42 points!

Nobody cares about you, Aggies. You haven't done a thing to generate interest since beating ND who is only okay. Oddly, the world was not set afire by you beating MSU and Florida.

Your fluke record due to schedule will dog you until the LSU game even if you keep winning. Beating them isn't the deal you hope it will be either.

You beat a shit team by 3 and celebrate your ranking.

We beat a shit team by 3 and are reaching for the pitchforks.

What? A&M beat LSU five in a row in the 90s before the series went on hiatus till 2012.

SEC scheduling has been weird for a long time, trying to preserve historic rivalries and every-year non-con games. We’ve also never been to Lexington. LSU-UGA only played twice in the regular season since 2009.

Last win in BR was 1994, last game was in 1995 in CS (a win for A&M) until the 2011 Cotton Bowl.

Three SEC road games consecutively?  A team could go 1-2 and still be a good team.  A great team would take a dive next week to keep Brian Kelly employed.

Yes - PSU's donor base smokes them - and aggy's NIL well is drying up.  Fact is they have a handful of big donors but they built a huge, ugly, expensive stadium that they've filled like twice and don't have new money coming in.  aggy's chances of having any meaningful NIL money next year is damn near zero.

Through week 7,  games involving Texas had brought in over 33 million total viewers in games to date.  Games involving Texas A&M had brought in just over 12 million.  And that includes their prime time game against Notre Dame.

It's not some mystery or conspiracy as to why the Ags got bumped for the Longhorns.

Maybe if the aggy cult stopped hate-watching Texas, our ratings wouldn't be so high?  I mean, FFS, that Kentucky game was a beating.

Economics is hard for the Aggie.  It takes understanding something outside of their internal need to eat, sleep, and chase sheep.

With the exception of like 2 years with Manziel aggy and Kentucky have traded last place in the SEC ratings.  This is why it is bullshit they get a full share of the TV revenue as that has trended even worse since we joined and take school agnostic texas-based eyeballs.  This is getting to be a bigger and bigger issue and probably leads to changes when the next TV deal is being negotiated.  At least KY brings other sport viewers, aggy sucks at all sports and has zero national appeal (or even awareness).

There were probably more aggy eyeballs watching, hoping we'd lose, than Horn fans who just turned it off from disgust.

The Texas A&M University football team has been found in violation of the NCAA playing rule governing feigned injuries. This determination was made after review by the National Coordinator of Football Officiating of game video from the Texas A&M football game against the University of Arkansas on October 18.

https://www.secsports.com/news/2025/10/national-coordinator-of-officiating-determines-violation-of-injury-timeout

Quote

A feigned injury is considered to have occurred when the National Coordinator for Football Officiating states in his finding that a player attempted to feign an injury or that it is more likely than not that a feigned injury occurred.

Video of the questionable action, submitted to the National Coordinator by the Southeastern Conference office, occurred with 12:55 remaining in the game after Arkansas completed a pass for a first down just outside the Texas A&M 10-yard line.  After the ball is spotted by officials, No. 7 for Texas A&M goes to the ground, creating the appearance of an injury. Just prior to the player going down, a Texas A&M staff member can be seen in the video standing in the team area near the 25-yard line signaling demonstratively to the player, pointing to the ground. It was noted that the Texas A&M player had no contact during the play and returned to the game on the second play of the ensuing defensive possession.

As determined by the National Coordinator, the action by player, especially with the concurrent action by the coach in the team area, is a clear attempt to gain an unmerited advantage by stopping the game to be awarded an injury time out. The action violates the spirit of the injury timeout and fair play and was conducted in a manner that appears to attempt to circumvent the NCAA’s injury time out rule to avoid the team being charged a time out.

Consistent with SEC policy, when the National Coordinator determines a feigned injury has occurred, the SEC is issuing a reprimand to Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko and assessing a financial penalty of $50,000 for a feigned injury violation.

According to SEC policy as approved in August 2022 by a unanimous vote of Conference athletics directors, for a team’s first feigned injury finding by the NCAA, the head coach will receive a public reprimand from the Commissioner issued by the Conference office. In addition, a $50,000 financial penalty will be assessed for this violation.

For a second feigned injury, a public reprimand and $100,000 fine will be assessed, and any further violations will result in suspension of the head coach for the team’s next contest. Similar penalties may be assessed to other involved staff members.

SEC policy provides that further similar findings by the NCAA will result in additional fines and possible suspension of the head coach, assistant coaches, and student-athletes.
