So we are getting a full-blown Bluey movie in....in 2027.  This will be the creator's swan song as he moves on to other stuff (but Bluey is continuing)

BBC Studios and The Walt Disney Company today announced the first-ever animated feature film for Bluey.

The film will premiere in cinemas worldwide in 2027, followed by streaming on Disney+. The movie will also air on ABC iview and ABC Kids in Australia post-theatrical release.

Written and directed by Bluey creator Joe Brumm, the film is a Ludo Studio production in collaboration with BBC Studios.

The film will star vocal talent from series, including Melanie Zanetti and David McCormack, along with music created by Bluey composer Joff Bush.

The CG animated film will be produced by award-winning animation producer Amber Naismith (‘Happy Feet’, ‘The Lego Movie’, ‘The Lego Batman Movie’) with Richard Jeffery returning to co-direct (’Bluey’ Series 1-3). Joe Brumm will serve as executive producer, alongside Charlie Aspinwall and Daley Pearson from Ludo Studio, and Justine Flynn for BBC Studios.

Apparently the most watched show of 2024 in the US with over 35 billion minutes watched. I can believe it.

May or June is going to see the launch of half-a-dozen LEGO Bluey sets (two will be Duplo probably).  Guess both companies want to print up some money.

Rusty practicing by himself for hours on end really hits home.  For me it was basketball and batting practice.

Never been with an Aussie chick. Are they all square shaped?

One of my favorite episodes. Rusty fist bumping his adult self at the end gets me.

I haven’t put my 18 month on bluey yet.

Ms Rachel is the main name in the house.

Bluey’s parents will make you feel inadequate as a parent.

Ms Rachel, like Blippi/Cocomelon/others, can die in most awful of fires for all I care.

I used to spend hours throwing a rubber ball against the back of the garage to practice fielding grounders. When my kids insist that I go outside with them to practice whatever sport, I gladly go, but I really try to encourage them to just go do it by themselves without waiting for me to be available.
