I recall that was an HBO movie in the early years when HBO started making its own movies. I only saw it once or twice and liked it. Will have to check it out again.

But I was incredibly disappointed that Rebecca De Mornay didn’t show her bush a single time in the movie.

Charlie Wilson’s War

Another great one. It was a deeper look into a historical event I knew little about until then. It also foreshadowed some of the fuckery with our subsequent entanglements in the Middle East.

Oh she pulls back the curtains alright, but it results in blindness.  Just like they told us it would in Sunday School.

Strategic Air Command is probably the most beautiful aerial footage of vintage nuke bombers ever filmed. The B-36 portion was filmed in Fort Worth at Carswell.

We'll see

Most of my favorites have been mentioned.

But unless I missed it, has anyone mentioned SPY GAME?

Fucking love that movie.

Also, don’t know if it counts as a “Cold War” movie, per se, but thinking about Spy Game also reminded me of SNEAKERS, which is also fantastic.

I liked Firefox! Haven’t seen it in decades, but at the time…

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy is pretty good for a Cold War movie made well after the Cold War cooldown

Hunt for Red October wins for me, hands down.

Buncha good ones after that.
