Florida is a more disfunctional AD and booster group, isn't anywhere close to as good of a job as LSU, and has more competition in state. If the money is anywhere close to equal, Florida vs LSU isn't even a discussion.

October 29Oct 29 Is this for real? Louisiana is like 50th in economy, 50th in crime, and like 46 in education. And this is his biggest priority?

October 29Oct 29 As laughable as this is, lsu doesn’t have a president and by law the governor fills that role.

If they address QB in the offseason they can compete with anyone next year.

October 30Oct 30 I wonder if Harlem Berry looks at our RB room and says to himself he can start right away just a state over in Burnt Orange and White. He would be a massive upgrade over what we've been trotting out. If Chad Scott isn't working the phones with this kid, he's a moron. We have a chance to make up for Sark and Choice fucking off about a transfer like Justice Haynes and Ahmad Hardy. We have a do-over, so if I were them I would try my hardest not to fuck that up. Yes, we have Derek Cooper coming in (I hope), but we need better talent to help support them both. And let's hope we get a new o-line coach who knows how to recruit above 3* and actively recruits other than just a "big human", but a big human who is actually good.

October 30Oct 30 They should hire Jeff Traylor. He's older now but probably has one more run left. They can get him on the cheap. Nobody will accuse him of being a jerk. He's consistently won at a commuter school with P4 rejects. Once he gets to keep his best players he'll do even better.

From someone who has criticized the Traylor-to-Texas contingent on this site, I actually don't think that would be a bad hire. But I think a large portion of LSU's fan base and supporters will say, "Jeff Who?" and want a bigger splash hire.

OU tends to be pretty savvy when hiring coaches, however, so I’d expect they look for someone like Kalen Deboer coming off two seasons at Fresno State, I.e., just enough experience but looking for fresh talent. Plus, that’s cheaper.

I don't think many in the coaching ranks will perceive OU to be any better than Ole Miss these days, bc neither has top-tier, in-state talent. That advantage belongs to both LSU and Florida. Doesn't Ole Miss have enough BMDs to match any offer for Kiffin? I mean, they've been killing it in the portal, so their NIL program must be formidable. If Freshwater leaves, it won't necessarily be about the money. Or maybe I've overestimated the Ole Miss bankroll.

NIL is going to cause Oklahoma a LOT of problems from here on out. LSU and Florida have natural talent pools, Florida has good NIL. OU has neither.
