October 30Oct 30 LSU's history should scare them away from hiring any big name coach. Their 3 NCs have come under head coaches that at the time were not yet household names. At time of LSU hiring Saban- 43-26-1 with 1 Mac championship and no ten win seasons. Only 1 top 10 finish. Won NC at LSU Miles- 28-21 at Ok State and never finished higher than 3rd in the Big 12. Won NC at LSU Orgeron- 10-25 at Ole Miss with no ranked finishes. Won NC at LSU Kelly- 145-61 with 3 conference championships. 4 BCS/Playoff bowls and 8 top 15 finishes. Fired for being an a hole.

Nice try The LSU board and Woodward gotta pay Korn Ferry a finder's fee to produce the same list.

Baylor could open up That would be an absolute home run hire for them, and that would kind of piss me off because Baylor is evil, Jeff is not, but he would still take the check just like the rest of us. We're so related, Jeff and all of us plebians. 4 hours ago, lilMAC25 said: I want Lane to get a massive extension and raise. Set the bar. I want them to make it impossible for OU to hire him. You think Bob Stoops was a ruthless asshole? Kiffin at OU would be a complete fucking nightmare for Texas. I doubt Lane would go there simply because ou is too poor to hire him, but if children's hospitals start having massive amounts of kids die or their hospitals begin shutting down, then we know they're going for Lane. That would suck for us big time. We already have to go against him next season if he's still at Ole Miss, I believe.
October 30Oct 30 I'm very shocked Kelly didn't actually agree to a 20 milion buyout at the meeting where he was fired. Edited October 30Oct 30 by kevwun

You expect another high-profile team to hire him soon? He's got the best job in CFB now - a fired HC with a lotto-sized buyout. He can go hang out with Orgeron and Jimbo on the Emerald Coast. October 30Oct 30 TIL Lousiana elected Bobby Boucher governor. fuckin' lol. Can't recall the last time a state governer publicly called for the firing of an AD.

October 30Oct 30 Jimmy Sexton should be hit with an anti trust suit by the feds. He not only represents most coaches and ADs, but he’s now an agent for players.

He's an idiot and he's outright lying about the buyout. The funding for the buyout comes from the TAF (their version of the Longhorn Foundation) which is funded by private donors and funds. He's grandstanding for political reasons only. What's interesting to me is that he's not an LSU guy, he graduated from UL Lafayette so there's a fair amount of skepticism and concern that he may not have LSU's best interests at heart. Whatever the case may be, he loves a microphone AND he really is a moron so the next few days of his publicity tour should be both entertaining and detrimental to their coaching search - bring it on!

They're poor af. Their roads are literally like driving over fault lines cracked and the roads are sometimes like you're driving on broken asphalt and sideways like you're on a Speed Racer track. Their roads are the absolute worst I've ever been on in my life, and I've been through a lot of shitty states and towns.
October 30Oct 30 This is already rivaling some historic Tennesse searches and they haven't even started yet and i am here for every second of it.

Yeah, the taxpayers bailing out LSU sounded fishy to me, too. I don't stay abreast of their state politics. My initial instinct was Landry is grandstanding. What a mess.

October 30Oct 30 Regardless of who actually pays for the BO, the state and its tax payers are the ultimate guarantor on a contract between a state school and another party. That's how I interpret it. Will this ever come to a point where the money is coming out of the state treasury? No. They will find the money from somewhere or they wouldn't have fired him.

Hired Nick Saban, got a lucky break in 2007, and fielded one of the top 8 GOATS of teams that we almost beat. Fuck you, Keontay Ingram. You stone handed fuck. As Fondren mentioned, this was before NIL, so they cheated their asses off. Charles Rogers once told a story about when he was recruited by Mich St, the reason he snubbed Michigan and Ohio State was because Saban had a "guy" who would pay big money for recruits. While he was at an all-star game, he tried recruiting an Alabama commit. The commit took the OV, got paid, and then still signed with Bama lol. RIP, Charles Rogers. 38 is too soon. We're the same age. One of the best college WR's I ever saw in college. He was up there with Roy Williams, Julio Jones, DK Metcalf, AJ Brown, Calvin Johnson etc. Sucks it didn't translate to the league with his substance abuse issues. The only WR I'll say we will never see again is Randy Moss. The most talented WR to ever play the game. Full stop. Edited October 31Oct 31 by William Bludworth
