January 22, 20241 yr If it was 5'2" Tom Cruise you'd be bitching he wasn't the man mountain he is in the books. Ya'll gotta learn to relax and enjoy the pent up stress relief.
January 22, 20241 yr If we’re gonna quibble. A naturally muscular man like Reacher needs to eat a lot of protein and energy to stay big like that. A hobo isn’t gonna get that kinda nutrition. A real world Jack Reacher would be 170# and skinny fat. I’m OK with the producers ignoring that fact and casting a man who takes PEDs and >200 grams of protein a day. Smome have criticized Season 2 for being a team-up. Reacher’s a loner and doesn’t have friends. I get that, and I like the change. Good chemistry from everyone and let’s him be a little less wooden.
January 22, 20241 yr Season 1 had a team up too, just with people he met during the course of the season. I think season 1 was better because a character like Reacher just seems made for small town crime. Like, put Reacher in the town from Road House (before Dalton cleaned it up) and that's a great season right there. Season 2 was definitely still entertaining (you can't watch him throw a fucking grill onto a guy's SUV to stop him from getting away and not love that shit), but stopping a huge international terrorist plot is a 24 storyline.

January 23, 20241 yr Season 2 was completely implausible with some terrible acting to boot, but the worst part is that Serinda Swan never got nekkid. All that said, I'm in for season 3.

Hey asshole, Black Sails was never "low brow." stellar writing and acting. One of the few shows where the characters stay true to who they are and the plot follows throughout. Apologize for putting it in the same sentence as fucking Spartacus.
January 23, 20241 yr I know its mindless entertainment... and i am OK with that. Robert Patrick was playing an almost cartoonish bad guy who seems to not worry about 50 bodies being left behind because of him.

January 23, 20241 yr I think most of us understand what we're getting into with Reacher and can still be disappointed when it feels lazy and poorly executed. I plan on tuning in for S3 but I'm much less excited about it

January 23, 20241 yr Bad guys: "The most important thing in the world is tying up loose ends." Also the bad guys: "Let's keep dropping clearly tortured people out of helicopters, even though hikers keep finding them almost immediately."

But that's how it was considered. Toby Stephens should have been nominated for something. Spartacus, the earlier seasons, was good. Beneath the ridiculous amount of gore and T&A, you could tell there was real talent in the writing.

January 24, 20241 yr The scene with him holding the hospital bed with Dixon strapped to it out of the helicopter was a tad (no pun intended) much I will admit. Favorite line of the season that did make me LOL was when Terminator said to Reacher on the phone "What is it that you want?" and Reacher thought about it for a second and said "I want to throw you out of a helicopter."

January 28, 20241 yr Was somebody badmouthing Banshee? Lili Simmons got naked and had sex near about every week. I’m not much for white women but that’s enough for me.
May 25, 20241 yr They cast The Dutch Giant as a villain for next season. Google him if you don't know who he is. He's going to make Ritcheson look like a peanut. Should be fun.

Not as enjoyable as Reacher IMO. Reacher is just the right amount of masculine ridiculousness. I felt rebel ridge tried to halfway be serious but also had some ridiculous moments. Pick a lane. Be Rambo or not but I don’t like halfway measures.

He's always eating in the books as well and doing physical/manual work to make money like digging pools by hand, stuff like that. February 18Feb 18 Really had no interest in this series, but the wife suggested I try Season 1, and it didn't take long for me to get hooked. Looking forward to S3.
February 18Feb 18 Imo S2 didn't do the book justice. The writing was bland and the acting was just meh. This book (s3) is one of my favorites. It's dark and dire. I hope they treat it as so. I know what this show is but to me they are leaving too much meat on the bone. Better writing and definitely better actors. Spend some money Amazon.
