At the end of the day the 4 star designation was very broad, we needed a 4.5 or ++ a very long time ago.

The whole recruit ranking system makes no sense to me. In 2024 Georgia averaged 93.37 points per recruit. The 10th team, Auburn averaged 92.1.  That seems really close in “quality”, but we all know Georgia picked up superior players for the most part. They lump a lot of players really close to each other.

I’m not interested in getting political, but your description of circumstances can get immediately fucked. Negged for attempting to absurdly minimize the assassination attempt on a presidential candid

It's almost like there's no rhyme or reason.

Could be the reason we're still on Mbatchou even though we're big game hunting now.

Huh? Mbatchou is the big game. All the big schools in the country are going hard after him. He’ll be extremely high ranked by the end of the cycle.

If they'd just wait until after their college careers are over, they could give us a way more accurate assessment of how good the classes are

Mack closed with Hicks and Jeffcoat that year.

I remember at Hicks PC some Ohio State reporter asked him something to the affect of how could he turn his back on his home state Buckeyes.  He laughed ans responded that he was from South Carolina

He wasn't so much uncommitted, he just didn't want to deal with reporters and fans and couch burners like the dumbass who asked him how he could turn his back on the home state Buckeyes.

Hicks has kinda quietly had a very nice NFL career. $43 million earned (and counting) and a Super Bowl ring. One of our better players from a pretty dark era of Texas football.

Sarkisian going to be like Louis and Billy Ray buying OJ after the crop report.

I remember that too. He gave them a death stare as he said it. One of my favorite moments from a recruit’s signing

I think Harold Perkins was asked a similar question and gave a similar response.

20 years ago that type of guilt and pressure worked to keep prospects local. Today it is closer to asking someone why they took a job out of state.

It’s a hilariously rage inducing tack to take considering how many Texans and other out of state players they recruit and ask to spurn local programs.

I dont follow LSU much, but i recall him having a monster Fr year and dropped off big time last year.  Wonder how hes done through 2 games this year?

2 tackles in the year. No sacks. I can’t speak to QB hurries.

As others have pointed on this board, he’s a tweener that doesn’t play the run well. LSU got cute last year and tried to play him inside. Trying him outside again this year. I think he would be best used as a pass rush specialist similar to how Texas used Ant last year. They’re in a spot. I doubt Perkins would accept a reduced role.

Really bad, they are having a meltdown over there. Of course Aggie still pines for him but they are rubes listening to games on AM radio still.

He was a highly touted recruit who more or less freshman’d his way through his freshman year until the Arkansas game. He had 4 sacks in that game and was instrumental late in locking up the win. That game made him famous and set absurd expectations.

If you actually look at his freshman year, you wouldn’t immediately call him the best defensive player in college football, but the media did that heading into last year.  Then LSU used him as a QB spy and tried to act like he wasn’t a pass rush specialist. Outside of another Arkansas display of heroism, he had a mediocre year.

Living mostly off of name recognition, he was again touted breathlessly heading into this season. Anyone actually watching and thinking sees a tweener capable of flashing.  He’s not the best defender on his own team and shouldn’t be considered All SEC, much less All American, but I’m sure he will be.

He was used as a Mike for parts of both of the first two games.

Curious to which recruiting service you guys like to use to look up players by high school and if there are any offers.

You mean like to answer a question like "does Willis HS have any players with an FBS offer?"

Click on the 'Recruitment Filters' under the search box in the middle of the screen.  This will bring up a form that allows you to enter/search by high school name.  You can only look at one recruiting class at a time though - you'll need to change the year in the drop down above the search box.

A brief update on 5-star ATH Michael Terry III after a conversation earlier this week.

Following my trip to Alamo Heights a few weeks ago, it was clear the teams to beat in this race were Oregon, Nebraska and Texas.

Right now, I believe that list has trimmed a bit to Nebraska and Texas with Oregon looming from behind just a bit. The distance to the pacific northwest is just a bit much.

Also, on the side of Nebraska, I am told the early play of Dylan Raiola has been encouraging there. Of course, Matt Rhule has been the main contact as well, so the Cornhuskers are throwing the kitchen sink at Terry.

Texas is very much in this one and in my eyes the team with the best pitch for Terry. I expect a decision date to come soon with an actual decision later in the season.

That last sentence isn’t English.

Kinda surprised nobody out there hasn’t just started doing edits right after Fawcett posts his. Send them to the kids or just tag the players in them when posting. The guys aren’t just going to ignore awesome content with their names/faces on it. Eventually people will start contacting that person. As long as they can keep secrets, they’ll get a good bit of business before long

247 is still the best at that as far as I can tell, but I prefer On3 for actual recruit rankings/news. Can’t wait til they get all the extra bells and whistles like 247

Then the public decision being made on the date he decided to do it.
