The Frenchie Manurhin folks were pretty smart to adapt the Ruger Service Six frame & lock work for their MR88.
My 50 year old Ruger SS .357 still locks up tight like new even though the frame blueing has turned purplish….

Yep.  I think Ruger was a big supplier to euro LEO many moons ago.  Makes sense they copied what they liked.  I want the 73 too but can't bring myself to spend the $$.

Armybrat’s den as I picture it, based on his ability to lay hands on any piece he thinks about in a matter of seconds.

Not hardly. I don’t display any firearms.

I’ve gifted half my accumulation to family over the decades.

Still have 8 or 9 new unfired handguns & rifles in the safe besides the handful I’ve actually shot.

This weekend I ran about 500 rounds through a Bul Armory Tac Pro 5" with Holosun 508t multi and really enjoyed it.

Only issue is that when it got a little dry the slide lock lever wouldn't always engage but that's on me.

Very enjoyable to shoot and it's only limiting factor was my ability.  Nice gun.

Also ran a box through my Manurhin MR88 which I hadn't done in a long time.  Sweet shooter especially with .38s.

Biggest revelation there is that my eyes are going and I can't see the front sight for shit.  Researching replacements since I don't want to paint it.  Getting old sucks.

I am having a set of Meprolight HyperBrights to my USP for that exact reason. The larger front sight color helps me a lot. I have considered going with an optic, but I refuse to modify a stainless USP.

Bul makes some good stuff.

Can someone please convince me that I don't need this thing?

Other than more “tacti-cool”, what does that bring to the table than a full size Glock or any other hi-cap pistol?

If it was a real full automatic then it would be something to consider…..for some aficionados.

JMO of course.

As an owner of a PSA AK-V9, I can say that you probably don't NEED it, but it's a heck of a lot of fun to shoot!  That Kuna is supposed to have even less felt recoil due to the rolled blowback design, but recoil is never an issue for me with the PSA.  Cheaper to plink in 9MM, foldable stock gives you portability options (backpack, etc.).  Lots to like in a PCC like this.

What's pricing?

Supposed to be "under" $1,000 which means it will be $999.99.  That thing is on every reviewer's youtube channel right now.  Consensus overall seems to be that it's a good shooting gun that is better than a Stribog and lighter than the MP5 but a little more felt recoil.

I do enjoy my Springfield Saint AR pistol so this may be something to add to the collection.

As long as we are talking about silly guns, after one year I can report that my Kel-Tec Sub2000 is the silliest and second shittiest* gun I have, and I enjoy the hell out of shooting it.

*The shittiest gun I have is a Tec 9, a somewhat less silly piece of shit that I also enjoy less.

No sir, that .22mag is fun as hell to shoot and would ruin someone's day if you had to use it.  The Ruger carbine is fantastic.  It's my top suggestion for HD for a new gun owner.  You can load higher cap mags, minimal recoil, less report than a 5.56 and much less concerns of wall penetration and because you can anchor it to your shoulder and get two hands on it, it's more accurate for a newb to use.  And they are fun as hell, which promotes more familiarity and competency with it

Yeah, that would make a hell of a truck/hiking/camping/HD option for all the reasons I mentioned above with the Ruger carbine, but in an even more compact option.

Cool gun, but a big miss by not putting a tri-lug adapter on it.

You can buy a three lug adapter to thread on the barrel, but it just adds a little length to the barrel.  Much cleaner to have it integrated like on the MP5.

Just ordered 1000 rds of green tip to level out the ammo safe. Beware the liberal with weapons experience.

Green tips, red dots and blued finishes for everybody!

Red dots and gold dots are two of my favorite things

Is there a re-seller’s market for reloading equipment? Just curious as I have two Dillon Square Deal-B reloaders fully mounted on a base plate with accessories that have just been collecting dust for damn near 10 years in my garage.

They’re both pistol only caliber reloaders, but Dillon always honors their no B-S warranty for life. One is set for .38/.357 and the other .45LC. SDB is only interchangeable for pistol calibers, as the height of the spacing doesn’t allow rifle calibers to be reloaded.

Hook’em!!!

I gave up Cowboy Shooting (SASS) once my son got about a year into college. Not counting the hundreds of reloaded ammo that I have in .38 and .45LC. I really don’t even go to the range anymore, except to periodically help myself for self defense (carry) pistols. I just really got out of the shooting sports game. I used to do IPSC with .45 APC too, but the time constraints just caught up to me.

Once my Son started to lose interest in Cowboy Shooting is when I got into TXHSFB officiating for “something” to do with my allotted free time (wife permitting).

That only lasted roughly a decade before I got burnt out on that too. Just too much at my age. Plus, I’d rather just watch the Longhorns live and not on DVR.

Hook’em!!!

Took the new 1911 out to the range today.  Damn if it isn't a lot of fun to shoot.   My Walther full size is a little snappy but the 1911 is such a different beast.  It'll just be a range toy but I really enjoyed shooting it.

I also put the folding brace and red dot on the HK 416 .22lr and it's such a blast to shoot.

1911’s and .45 have a completely different recoil impact that polymer guns. Part of that is the gun and part of that is the cartridge.

They shoot great. Enjoy.

I’m prepping to open up my own gun shop and I keep going back and forth on 1911’s. I’ll probably end up stocking 1 or 2 but that’s about it. Market is soft on them bigly.

Not Austin area.

I’ll have a collection of guns found nowhere else in Texas. Think Kovert Projects. Hardest guns to get In the country - gonna be rad. It’s also going to be in a small town where nobody can afford them lol

The answer is yes. But they’ll never make it to the gun case in the shop.

To the dumpster?

Nah - sold on gunbroker or I’ll bring them to my buddy to sell in his shop.

Just kidding.

On a related note, my son’s friend was supposedly in the process of having a custom 1911 made by Jesse James.
From what I heard it was going to be quite pricey.

$1000 in parts
$500 in labor
$6000 for Jesse James name
