That's what CHIEF Jr. says is his next purchase. Don't know why he wants one, we don't have any grizzlies, buffalo, or polar bears around. He already has the .450BM. There is a recoil pad included, that should tell a person something.

I don’t have that problem, the Diana my grandfather liberated from a house he cleared along the Moselle is a taxi driver and still in good working order.

Ever been rebuilt?

Probably has a leather washer on the piston, and while those are better than they sound, 75 some odd years has to be a record for longevity.

Too bad he didn't luck into one of these.

Every firearms aficionado should have a levergun, and the Marlin is one of the top choices, IMO.
Bought my .30-30 new in 1968 for about $80.
Added a cheap Tasco a few years later. Son#2 owns it now.

There’s no telling whether he rebuilt it, but I’m positive he tinkered with it as needed. It was old when he found it, so it’s probably closer to 95 years old than 75. He used it regularly from when he came back from Europe until he passed in 2022.
It’s a single shot, so he told me the important thing is not to miss. Here he is at age 98, heading out to bag a squirrel for dinner:

Give me a Hayes all day every day.

Meh, my old Win. Defender could do basically the same thing for $125 new.

Those NE firearms evolved from the H&R Topper series.
Mine is a 12 gauge shortened to 19”. It served as my truck gun in the early 1990s.

Did they waive the tax stamp fee? I am holding off on can purchases until Jan 1.

They did not, but I went ahead because (as they confirmed) there’s gonna be one hell of a backlog come Jan 1 and I didn’t want to sit around until lord knows how long to get the cans.

Am tempted to add a can to my 5.56 pistol next year if I’m still around.
Just for the heck of it.

Guess I’d have to do the trust thing. Would that allow it to be passed down to a family member?

I’d guess it depends on the trust. The item is owned by the trust and you make people trustees. The trustees can posses the property. Whoever you make beneficiary on it can be the one that babysits it.

You just have you both on the trust. When you eat it, he takes the suppressor as he already owns it.

Easy.

Is there really much point in suppreing a 5.56 pistol? Subsonics are basically expensive .22's, and by the time you add the length of a suppressor is it really much quieter than a rifle length gun?

I am just gonna go with "yes" without thinking about this much. SUPPRESS EVERYTHING.

Don't need.  But want.....

I bought one a few months back and paid far more than that price. I do like to acquire guns in pairs though.

Does anyone have experience/advice on a modular gun safe such as Zanotti, Steelhead or Snap Safe? I want one I can assemble to make it easy to place but something that offers real security. I really don't have anything that valuable but sentimental stuff from my dad and mom (she loved to bird hunt). Years ago we had a break in and someone stole all my dads old firearms and I don't want to go through that again.

Huh. I just had a cheap cabinet gun safe from academy when we suffered a break in like 20 years ago. Dude spent some real time trying to pry it open, but it held. I later upgraded slightly, but it’s still nothing fancy. It’s big enough, very heavy, and the lock is solid. Also from Academy.

How’s that SA 1911 shootin’?

Haven’t been to the range or the family land to shoot mine yet.

A grandson has his eyes on it though.

Early Christmas present to myself for this season, sig cross in 6.5 creedmoor. Shout out to the guys at Guns Warehouse up in Cedar Park; good guys to deal with. 20251108_131449.jpg

… a very merry Christmas indeed!

I have a very specific reason for needing to carry occasionally and I would rather do it with a revolver but my Governor is too big and showy.
@Armybrat what’s your favorite snubnose these days? I’m trying to make up my mind between a Ruger LCR in 327 Magnum, a 357 King Cobra 3” (not exactly snub), and a Taurus 605.

Don’t limit yourself to the above. I’m only gonna get one snubnose, what would you pick and why?

I got one of these along with the .357 above.  (Not my pic.)  S&W .38 638 Airweight.  5 shot.

Concur - a very good choice, although the Ruger would be too.
I’m partial to lightweight for conceal carry.
Mine is a Model 38 Airweight - bought it from a LEO 25 years ago who used it as a backup for his Kimber .45.

Just built this custom rig for my girlfriends son.

Manners LRH-NV
Kelbly custom receiver
Helix 6 CF barrel cut to 22”
Nightforce 2.5-20x

Red Wolf Gun Works in burnet did the build. He was the gunsmith at Guns Warehouse for years - now just does custom builds and a little repair work when time permits.

Got it Friday. Dead deer this morning.

25 Creedmoor.

Tell us about the scope.
It's a leupold vx-3hd that I had set up on my model 70. Swapped it over on this one temporarily for hunting season. Still studying around for what to ultimately mount on it.
