Dramatic rescue attempt at Niagara Falls. USCG peeps are amazing.

I’m not really sure how they fit their balls on that helicopter or how the helicopter can lift them off the ground, but those guys are amazing.

She didn't make it, so it's a recovery.  Sadly, both died.

Rola wouldn't say whether the woman drove into the water intentionally or by accident, pending further investigation. He said witnesses called 911 reporting that they saw a car enter the water between the Goat Island pedestrian bridge and the vehicle bridge on the American side of the falls. Rola said the woman was local to Western New York.

A police drone was used to scan the vehicle's plate, check how many people were in the vehicle and attempt to determine whether the occupant was alive or dead. Police said no movement was observed in the vehicle in the period leading up to the rescue attempt and a parks official confirmed she was dead before the Coast Guard diver got to her.

What a bizarre story.
