December 20, 20214 yr I remember people complaining that Vince threw too much side arm. He turned out okay I guess.
December 20, 20214 yr If only he had that classic over the top arm angle like Mahomes uses every throw.Â
December 20, 20214 yr Sark's whole philosophy of QB arms can be summed up by whether they can make the throw and is it catchable. He is not a stickler for what the mechanics should be. Probably because he himself was not your prototypical QB it is understandable that he takes such a pragmatic point of view. He has also stated that he likes when QB's have multiple release points because in games things are never ideal and situations sometimes call for atypical throws, hence he needs someone who can just make the throw and have it be catchable. Malik and Quinn fit that bill. I'm a huge Quinn fan. More than his skills i think he has the head and moxy to take us all the way. I haven't felt like that since Colt. Time will tell, but i'd bet a nickel i'm right.  Edited December 21, 20214 yr by RollLeft
December 21, 20214 yr I respect Ewers because it does not seem like he gives two shits about pressure from any direction.  He took an NIL deal, told Ryan Day to pound sand and now he knows he will be the next big thing as the Texas Longhorn QB-- and he does not GAF.  His attitude is more like, I have plenty of money, endorsements and pussy, so get me to Saturday and I will sling it for you. Â

Swidt? Let's be honest here. If he portaled to another team, we'd think he has at least a little douche in him. I'm sure fans of of other schools think so--and I'm OK with that. Can't wait until the spring game.

Yeah but portalling back to the team that you initially committed to makes you less of a douche in my book. It isn't just a burnt-orange glasses type deal.Â
December 21, 20214 yr I'm sure plenty of people around the country see him as a douchebag. Who cares. Fuck those dipshits. I hope he hangs his nuts all over those mouth breathing jealous bitches. Edited December 21, 20214 yr by honolulu horn

December 21, 20214 yr Which of his 2 college snaps led you more to these conclusions?I'm treating him like a highschool recruit, he was with the fuckeyes for a hot minute..My personal feeling? I'd rather have Klubnik or even Weigman, but from his body of work playing at a high level in HS, I expect him to be a vast upgrade over any QB on campus, and the prize of the portal as far as QB's go.

Can't wait until the spring game.Any good QB is going to have some degree of arrogance that fuels their competitiveness. Having said that, other players seem to like him so that tells me it's not the kind of arrogance that leads to douchebaggery. I could be wrong and he'll become Rattler 2.0, but I'm not seeing it yet.
December 21, 20214 yr Popular Post Quinn seems pretty genuine to me. I'm sure he's a cocky dude and has some douche characteristics but that's about par for the course when it comes to guys in his position. He grew up a Longhorn fan but he's too young to remember 05. I'm guessing some of his first Texas memories were of Colt's runs in 08 and 09. In his formative years he mostly saw Texas be a medicore football program cycling through coaches - the last of which offered him and he committed to before ultimately deciding against it. I'm not sure any objective observer of the situation could blame him. Especially with the money that was in front of him. I think he showed up at tOSU imagining he'd be the next heir to a powerhouse football program. He knew he was taking an unconventional path by skipping his last year of HS ball and thought his talent could carry him through it. I think he was humbled a bit realizing that it's a bit different being a big fish in a small pond versus a big fish with a lot of other big fish trying to feed. I think his heart was always in/at Texas and he realized that he was maybe trying to grow up and be a professional a little too soon. He saw a fairly analogous developmental opportunity (on paper) open up with Sark coming to Texas and the roots and fandom probably pushed his decision over the top for him to come back. Or maybe it sparked his decision. I don't think he's some big-dick player that took tOSU to the bank knowing all along he'd play for Texas. That's assuming a lot of business-savvy and general cold-hearted gangster shit on the part of a fairly sheltered teenager from a privileged background. I'd guess he's a fairly straight kid and good teammate just wanting to play football and show everyone what he's got. Maybe money complicated that for him as it would complicate things for anyone in his position. Ultimately - Texas proved to be a more advantageous and the most comfortable spot for him to showcase his talent. I hope he balls out and Moses' our ass out of the desert but if he doesn't that's okay. I won't hold it against him quite plainly because I respect his decision to come back too much. It shows a lot of integrity and actual maturity on his part. He knows this is his best stage and he wants to face the music. Sure that's a lot of conjecture on my part but I personally don't think that 18-19 year olds are all that complicated. It probably helps that I was there not all that long ago (although it's feeling a little too long ago at this point). If we could not lose 7 fucking games again that would be cool, though.Â

December 21, 20214 yr Pat Mahomes throws from different arm angles, and I'm glad he didn't play for Texas.
