November 2Nov 2 FUBO 5-day trial period got me through today. Even had games in 4K. Longhorns have a bye next week so YTTV has 2 weeks to figure it out.

YTTV offers that shit up when switching games and allows for "custom" builds. I'm not sucking any YTTV ass but it's absolutely superior for sports. Hulu live has no multiview. you have to go back and forth between games the old fashion way yesterday I found out Fubo only offers multiview on Roku ultra or Apple TV devices. Its a superior multiview vs YTTV. Faster loading, instant audio, more content. but you do need to be watchign Fubo on one of those. My buddy was watching Fubo on using his Vizio TV and didnt have mutliview. So i tried my Sony tv's player, androidTV, and I didnt have multiview. also no multiview while trying my XBOX one on it..so yea, thats a negative check. Still better if you use appletv

The multiview is better than YTTVs, faster and loads instantly. set your favorite channels on a computer browser and arrange your favorites to be your guide. i do locals, sports, news, weather, BS Channels. i actually like the UI more for Fubo than YTTV Agree the multiview might be better. The 3 view setup where you can swap the main screen is a great feature. I have an Appletv and the remote features are a little wonky. Fubo is a decent candidate.

Rokus are pretty cheap and very easy to set up, for the record. In case anyone else is considering using one.

Wouldn’t it be great if we had to pay Disney directly for their stuff, and Fox directly for theirs, and paramount directly for theirs, and on and on and on. Age doesn't matter in this arena for any of us, because that's where we're headed. And we're halfway there already--digital monopollies. Plus, many of us are also paying for internet access--outside of, and in addition to, the cost of streaming subscriptions. Digital entertainment is like gasoline: They've got it all, and we have to have it. Ergo, they can charge whatever the fuck they want to for it. Oh, a few iconoclasts will balk, but the rest of us lemmings will say, "Here's my credit card; take whatever you want." (Where have you gone, Joe DiMaggio Teddy Roosevelt? A nation turns its lonely eyes to you.)

I can pay Disney $40 for their ESPN Fox1 package ( all espn networks, SEC Network, B10 network, FS1, FS2), I already have Prime, I can buy an over the air antenna for the rare network games. November 3Nov 3 Right now Disney gets a shit ton of money from broadcast carriers based on their subscriber base. Once they effectively price out those carriers (which is their stated goal) so that the viewers have to use their app to see their content, where do you think that shit ton of money is going to come from in the future?
November 3Nov 3 2 minutes ago, Blotto said: OK. So I wont be paying $200. Got it Right now ESPN gets about $10B per year from carriers. If they are no longer carried anywhere but their app and there are 50 million subscribers, take a wild guess at how much per year that would mean every subscriber has to pay.

How much money do you think Disney currently gets for their subscriber package today on average from the various carriers. Its a hell of a lot closer to $20 a month than $200. So you think they will start charging $200 in a year or two? For sports only, I dont give a shit about the regular disney shit Also, explain why they were on board with VenuSports last fall for $42/month before Fubo and DirectTV sued and tied it up in courts? November 3Nov 3 Just signed up for Spectrum TV Select plan for $100 a month https://www.spectrum.com/cable-tv. Get's you all the standard Spectrum TV channels plus the stuff below. It links to your current stream app logins and just changes the billing info to "Spectrum". Seems pretty good so far other than no TV app for Chromecast or WebOS. They only have one for Roku or Apple TV.

Disney seems to be forgetting that part of the advantage of its deal with the bundled providers is that it gets money for a lot of subscribers that aren't interested in the sports content. It'll need to have more than 6x its current ESPN/Disney subscriber base to get the same revenue at anywhere near its current prices. I honestly don't think that is terribly realistic.

November 3Nov 3 Day 2 and I'm pleased with this DirectTV stream. The app isn't quite as user friendly as yttv, but it has more channels that I probably won't watch for 10 bucks less a month, and I was a previous DTV customer that ripped their dish off my roof and threw on the concrete as hard as a could about 7 years ago.

November 3Nov 3 Yeah, would like to know more about the Sling day pass option. When I looked at it, I thought it was only Sling Orange and Sports Extra you could get the day pass, and those plans did not appear to have ABC or ESPN Unlimited.

November 3Nov 3 I looked into cancelling YTTV and was informed that if I did so I'd lose access to the NFL ticket subcription I've already paid for. Which is not optimal.

This negotiation might take a while.

Right, and that's only replacing lost revenue. Once they have a captive market then the price hikes to satisfy shareholders really start. Current price plus the above is $55 per month for only ESPN. I don't see any way that if their plan works that they're not at least $100/month within 5 years of being app only. $200/month sounds insane but thinking it stays at 30 is even crazier. By your numbers, if they need $10B/yr off 50M subscribers, that works out to about $16/mo/subscriber.
