Normally participants have to play at least one singles match also but obviously since it's his tournament little waving that. From what I gather the match will start around 3pm Friday afternoon our time on the tennis channel. My guess is that Novak wasn’t invited.
September 22, 20223 yr Author Jesus fuck, Naomi pulls out of Tokyo with stomach pain. They actually kinda like you there, sweetie.

September 22, 20223 yr Author This post is great. Quote Given her history though, it really isn't a stretch to think she had major cold feet about playing in front of an expectant Tokyo crowd, and especially against a bang-in-form top player like Hadadd-Maia. When Osaka signed up, she probably envisioned starting off against local wildcard Aki Nobodyama. I’m stealing that name.
September 24, 20223 yr Raducanu retired in the 3rd set against Oostapenko today. The WTA needs to start fining players that retire more than 3 times per season. This is out of control
September 25, 20223 yr Author Samsonova beat Zheng to win Tokyo. Alexandrova fed Jelena a 24-minute bagel for the Seoul title.

September 26, 20223 yr [Only people of a certain age will get the following…] The “Team World” from the Laver Cup tan out to congratulate Frances Tiafoe after he beat Tsitsipas to clinch the cup. It’s pretty evident why they call him Felix O.J. Aliassime .
October 10, 20223 yr Author Krejcikova beat Iga to win Ostrava. Fritz beat Tiafoe in Japan, Novak over Tsitsipas in Astana. Check out the last names just in Iga's top quarter of San Diego. https://www.flashscore.com/draw/COmbScc2/hGHs9WHa/
October 11, 20223 yr Author Emma does some weird shit. And Genie quit after losing her first set. Vekic just smoked Sakkari.
October 13, 20223 yr Author ^ Apparently Dmitry kicked her out to work with another WTA player, likely an American, we'll find out who shortly. Dani v. Trevisan on now.
October 18, 20223 yr Genie Bouchard looking fit on the Tennis Channel 🎾 LIVE right now. She’s using her legs to win points… and to keep me watching. 🦵🦵
October 21, 20223 yr Halep busted for doping: https://www.espn.com/tennis/story/_/id/34845852/simona-halep-suspended-positive-doping-test-taken-us-open Quote Under the World Anti-Doping Code, Halep faces a ban of up to four years for a positive test for a substance such as roxadustat. Athletes can earn a reduction in their ban, likely to three years, if they quickly admit an offense and accept their sanction. This stuff stimulates generation of red blood cells (more oxygen capacity). Great boost for tennis players.
October 21, 20223 yr Author Whoa, that will dent the ol’ legacy a bit. Good thing she has a new honker now.
October 21, 20223 yr by the way, you have to be INCREDIBLY careless (or arrogant - see Sharapova) to get busted for doping in tennis. their testing has historically been notoriously lax. she's almost certainly been doping her entire career and screwed up.
October 24, 20223 yr Author JPeg wins her first 1000. And so concludes the '22 WTA season of main draws, FW starts on Halloween.
October 28, 20223 yr IMG_5326.MOV PSA for anyone in Ft Worth, the WTA is using the TCU indoor courts as a practice facility for the WTA Finals. It’s free for anyone to drop by and watch the ladies practice. Today when I dropped by, Coco Gauff and her team were practicing. October 29, 20223 yr Just picked up tickets to both semis and the finals of the ATX open. I haven’t been this excited about a sporting event since the 2005 rose bowl, I’m serious.

Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area this week and next week Cool video. Wish that Surly was better about showing the first frame from a phone video. I have sometimes just made a short gif so that it actually appears on the page. If I felt like it, I would do that with video from August. Instead… This is Kyrgios at this year’s open night of the US Open. Edited October 29, 20223 yr by Napoleon
October 31, 20223 yr I just checked the official WTA website for matchups today and saw that there was a Buy Tickets tab that you can click. The suites for today (and probably the entire tournament) are sold out, but they still have tickets available for today's action. These are the official prices! That is absolutely insane compared to what I paid to see two matches on the first night of the US Open. ($175 with fees) I was in Arthur Ashe, but a mile away in the 3rd level. This tournament is all day of the Top 8 players in the world facing off against each other and resale tickets are going for $17 + fees and official Ticketmaster listings are $20 + fees. Don't know if I'm going today, tomorrow, or when, but these prices are a joke! I am in Dallas and will likely go at least once this week, but there were post-lockdown COVID tournaments in 2020 that were better attended than what I saw this evening. 👀 They should be giving away Monday->Thursday tickets to this thing. They would at least get butts in seats and probably make money off of concessions.
November 1, 20223 yr Author Tonight gets a pass because of the holiday, tomorrow will be the true test. Real crazy part is there isn't a single FW business advertisement anywhere in the arena, nada. And the Startle-gram isn't even fucking with it.
November 1, 20223 yr Rough day for Pegula who lost both her singles and doubles today. Hopefully the crowds get better later in the week.
November 2, 20223 yr Author Garcia rolled up Coco. No one cares about the next doubles match, early night for Dickies.
November 2, 20223 yr The Yanks are 0'fer so far. Doesn't bode well for crowd attendance this weekend if neither Coco or Pegula make it to the knockouts
