Is this a Joe Biden thread or a Mexican border thread?

He did something to talk about a week or so ago.

Was reading that Biden kept a “hands off” approach to Breyer, as Breyer decided whether to retire. If so, that discretion brought dividends.

Yep. The plan is finally coming into place.

I thought he was Indian.  Dark hair, brown eyes, works in IT the odds should have been well in my favor.

All of you fuckers who post here will never agree on a damn thing political that's fine, whatever. The echo chamber here is like texags and gets boring.

I am a current owner of 8 rescue animals, 6 cats and 2 dogs. I want to salute Willow.

Being a lifelong rescurer of downtrodden cats and dogs, I do submit that large quantities of cats do outweigh large quantities of dogs in the home.

I'm pretty sure you all can turn this into a nazi/fascist versus socialist/marxist discussion pretty quickly, but Willow looks like a badass.

You really are terrified of a brown person. Wow

A lot of the comments here obviously come from people not familiar with life by the border. I grew up a minority amongst a sea of brown people. Not scared of them. But I’ll explain something to you. Regular migrants wear regular clothes when they’re in transit. The only ones that wear camo are ones that really don’t want to be caught.

If any of the cool kids here ever leave Dallas or Houston or Austin to go hunting by the border I’d recommend not walking up to someone looking like this and asking them if they’re lost. Just a tip.

these threads are practically unreadable now with Bravo & gang.  No contributions of substance, just shit-flinging
And whining. He's a whiner. They're all whiners.

“I’m not scared of them… except when they are brown people wearing camo”

“I’m not scared of them… except when they are brown people wearing camo”

The “the border has never been worse, build a wall! crowd are moronic jackholes.

BUT…it would help if you knew of what you spoke. My family has lived along the river since the Mexican War, many still do. My g-g-grandfather was one of theorist sheriffs down there, has a historical marker and the whole show. There have been people crossing it, in every way imaginable, that entire time. My dad’s first job was driving a van shuttling braceros to their work site for the day.

The vast majority of undocumented border crossers are just folks looking for a better life, safe haven, a chance for their kids, what have you. They are almost always dressed like….regular folks. They carry their belongings in a hodgepodge of bags. But dudes in camo, with large, nice backpacks….are not the regular folks. They are almost certainly drug mules, and you don’t want anything to do with them (I could go off on my rant here, for the 10,000th time, about how we could end that issue by ending the idiotic failed War on Drugs, but you’ve read it before). The point is, people are right to note that all border crossers are not created equal. Just because the vast majority are fellow humans and should be treated as such doesn’t mean they’re all friendly.

Back to your regularly scheduled programming consisting of folks who gleefully supported the biggest moron ever elected in US history shitting on Biden because he has a stutter and because he caused the entire global supply chain to not snap back instantly after a pandemic.

None of them really don't want to be caught.

Sack posted and claimed a pic from a video allegedly showing 40 illegals who had made poor life decisions crossing over his ranch and messing up his deer blind and of course blamed Biden and the discussion naturally flowed from there.

It’s the surly way.

But he won’t post the time/date stamp from the pic. So it was probably pre-2021.   Not that it matters, I know there are a ton of illegal crossings and issues at the border.  We need to fix it, and most of us agree on how to do that (guest worker program?) but lying and fear mongering doesn’t help.

I thought it was a joke but no they really did try and make getting ice cream a scandalous event. Now if he flew out of town every weekend and spent the entire weekend at an ice cream shop throughout his term that would be something worth criticizing.

But you understand electing a failed career politician? Ok

Compared to Trump? Yes, it was a easy decision. That's why Biden won by 7,000,000 votes.

If it was such an important election, why did the Republicans nominate such a terrible candidate? Who's next? Kid Rock?

I appreciate you backing up what I stated, since I know you dislike me. It’s amazing how things that are so blatantly obvious are shit on just based on who posts it here. People who have no clue about a topic will just talk shit because the internet.

I agree that it’s obvious that the vast majority of illegal immigrants are peaceful and looking for a better life. But it’s also obvious that there’s more people that are bad news coming across too. There’s consequences to that increased traffic for people that live near the border whether people in Houston, Dallas, or Austin give a fuck or not.

The problem, and Brisketexan addresses this, is that you're acting like this is all new shit. It isn't, and acting like Joe Biden created this problem while Donald Trump permanently solved this problem is not an argument made in good faith. Last time I saw a Republican (or anyone really) make a good faith attempt was George W, and he was shut down... by Republicans.

And this is absolutely the punch line they ignore.

Ignoring the big lie, while posting on any other topic, is bad faith. Lots of bad faith cons on this board.

Yeah if we don’t watch out, these immigrants might do something crazy like, I dunno, storm the capitol building or something!

Correct. This is probably how we should always respond whenever any other issue is brought up.

@Immaculate Vibes

We should tank our economy. That should slow movement across the border. Or we could give up fresh produce while letting our yards go wild, our houses go dusty, and our infrastructure go to shit.

My brother has been dogging me to watch “Chef’s Table.” He’s right, most episodes have been a great watch. After the Longhorns beat Tennessee, the wife and I watched the episode featuring Cristina Martinez.

As she is an undocumented immigrant (with a restaurant named the 6th best new restaurant in the US,) I was reminded of this thread. I’m tired of our society punching down. While, of course, Ms Martinez’s is an exceptional story, seeing the powerful skate not only rankles, it is fucking immoral. We should hold those with power to a higher standard. We hold the least powerful to an exacting, harsh, and immutable standard.

And for those who condemn Ms Martinez: in comparison to an exceptional corn tortilla, do you really think you offer society more than her? I, for one, doubt it.

So, Immamac can be both. Not saying he is. I haven’t a clue, other than one does not exclude the other.

The Texas Republic gained its independence with multi-racial and multi-cultural factions working together. Fact. A unique fact. Embrace the glory of Texas.
