Dark clouds and thunder on the horizon in Westlake. Rain? Or alien spaceship cruising in? Not really showing on the radar so I don’t know what to make of it

#1705

Just got a tenth of an inch a little east of Pflugerville. Of course, I had just paid my cousin's kids to paint the pipe fence about 4 hours ago.

Nevermind. Shouldn’t have said anything. No aliens. No rain.

Watched a nasty storm roll right by me to the west in NB. My ff is strong.

I was outside when it briefly released big fat droplets of rain out of the sky for a couple of minutes. It cycled between a light and heavy downpour for about half an hour. Temperature briefly dropped into the 70's with the rain and overcast sky.

Then it disappeared and it's hot again but at least it's in the low 90's.

The forecast has the rain clouds icon for Thursday so I clicked to see what the fuck that was all about.  Apparently around 8:00 AM the prediction is 10% chance of rain and at 3:00 pm there’s a 30% chance.  In other words, we ain’t getting jack shit.

#1712

My turn to get teased today. I can see the flashes of lightning, but not a fucking drop here.

This is just fucking cruel. I’ve had 2.5 inches of rain since the beginning of May which is ridiculous for this part of Texas.

Man, it is trying HARD to pour here in Bee Cave, where it always rains.  I can see the squall line up high almost on me, but it ain't quite here yet.  And you never know if/when these heat storms will suddenly poop out.  Don't fails me now!

OMG it's absolutely pissing!  We're about to hit an inch in only 10 minutes.

I feel like Lot (with 2 hot daughters apparently) just before Sodom was axed.

Keep talking asshole. See what happens. 😀

Nowhere near getting rained on, but it went to 99 degrees, so it's basically fall here.

Also notice that the 7-day continues to creep higher. Was showing 99 degrees a week out or so. Now it's up toward 103-104.

Fuck this place.

78738 in Bee Cave

Glorious rain falling and a 15 degree temp drop in the last 10 mins.

Got maybe a 1/2" or more (my rain gauge is broken) over the last hr in Henly....Chance for more if this storm coming up 281 in the Blanco area, if it moves just a bit east. Oh, and the temp is a very pleasant 76 right now.

Is there a magnifying glass over Dallas? I swear we have been 10 degrees hotter than anywhere else in Texas over the last month. I haven't seen a cloud in flower Mound since march.

One final one.  Amazing... from my house thermometer

I have family up on Lake Cornrow, and I've watched that shit for years, splits north of Willis, and rains balls out east of 45, but diddly shit for the lake area and The Woodlands.

I did finally get some sprinkles, but that storm just died on my doorstep…again.

yea, I watched that one with great anticipation. No dice.

In Cedar Park there was a really nice stretch of breeze/cloud cover (I knew it wouldnt rain) from that "storm".  Temps dropped prolly 10 degrees in 30 minutes.  Was able to spread some mulch without dying. Its the little things in life that keep you going!

My force field is better than your force field.

Yesterday evening I saw a batch of nasty looking dark clouds rolling towards my house complete with thunder and lightning.  Wind started to pick up so I took a gander outside to see how things were developing.  Swear to fucking god, the clouds that were barreling straight towards my house got within a block and made a 90 degree turn.  Didn't get shit.

An hour later another set of clouds pops up from the opposite direction.  More thunder, lightning, wind, etc... not a drop of rain.  When the wind died down I walked down the street which was soaking wet just four houses down from my place.

Basically my house avoided two big rain dumps from both directions last night.

Fuck this shit.

Random squall just pounded my office for about 10 minutes and then moved on through. Looked like 8 pm and raining sideways down here on the bayou but blue skies are already returning.

I didn't get measurable rain, but did get a light sprinkling.  We just got back home from picking up prescriptions, and a large, cold drop hit dead in the center of my head, followed by a six-inch sprinkle (drops six inches apart).  I guess that I should be frustrated that it wasn't more, but I have decided to be grateful for any good that comes my way, however little.  We're one day closer to the next frog strangling, fence lifting, bar ditch filling rain.
