I swear, if my house is dry when I get home....

We’ve only just had a sprinkle so far in downtown Houston.

Only sprinkles on the west side...just enough to get things wet.

I can see the tops of those clouds from Navasota, and I know without doubt that I won't get a drop of it on my place.  I hope you get some at yours.

Got at least a half inch (according to pool level) just north of there... And looking like more to come...

Yeah, I wasn’t home for it but we ended up getting an inch of rain at my house. This was the first real measurable rain since the beginning of May.

Looking at harriscountyfws.org the nice rain was SE of downtown.  Most other places around Houston have less than .10 inches of rain so far today.

So based on that, if I was still living in Houston, I would still hate the same people.

Could hardly see east of Baytown until about lumberton then again east in 190 out of Jasper it was raining so much. I10 was pretty slow going because of all the water on the road

Look at this wrong son of a bitch.  There's water falling from the sky in 77868.  It won't be much, but I'll take it!

Dumbass.

😎

June 3rd was last measurable rain at DFW.  We got 3 weeks and 2 days to set the all time record.   I love this plan.  I'm excited to be a part of it.

Solid inch in Indian Springs. Glorious

Guys, I shit you not, I just felt a couple drops while walking my dog downtown near the capitol.

It won’t be anything measurable, and frankly it was barely noticeable but it was actual water falling from the sky.

Ended up just getting some extended periods of "lightdrizzle" yesterday afternoon and for about an hour this morning. About 1/10 of an inch in the past 24 hours. Just enough to keep temps down and make the driveway look wet, but far cry from a drought-buster.

Nice shower in 78735. I thought I was hearing things for a minute!

Nice one in 78748 for about 15 minutes.

What the fuck just fell from the sky in the 48?

weather station reminded me this morning it was 50 days since last rain. Quarter of an inch, I’ll take it.

Was on 35 heading north around Pflugerville when it came down. Predictably Austin drivers handled the situation like professionals. JK... Saw one guy into center divider, and about 3 other near wrecks in a couple of miles.

Got 1/2 inch today

When you're done, ask him if it's going to rain.

This put a smile on my face. Also, fuck La Niña. We’ve had enough of you bitch…move along.

At least 5 times this weekend I've watched cells come towards my house and just disappear. We haven't gotten a single drop.

The past couple of pages have been a great reminder that Houston gets 51.84" of rain a year to San Antonio's 32.38".

Reminds me of trying to convince my wife to move to Portland -- "too much rain" -- 43 inches per year, Austin is 35 inches, Houston is 53 -- "wut?".

Facts don't matter.

Had a nice shower in the 666 while swimming the river. Was so nice. 73 degree river and warm rain. I had a third beer laughing at everyone running from the rain. Um, you were in the river. People......

NL knows what's up.

Saturday morning, dropped a kiddo off at the airport.  A handful of raindrops on the windshield on the way there, then another handful as we approached home (NW Hills) on the way back.  And that was it.  Rumbles of thunder heard later in the afternoon, but the pavement never even got wet.

It was a double-layer deep blueball experience.  F this summer.

We got maybe 15 minutes on Saturday... sidewalks got wet and we sat on the covered porch to enjoy the slightly cooler temps but honestly it didn't really do anything.

No we won't here in San Marcos. Shit will hit the city limits and no rain will fall. We did get a few showers yesterday. Swimming in the river while it rained was so nice.

San Marcos doesn't get to claim forcefield. I watch time and time again as SM gets nailed while NB gets missed.

I'm guessing you probably know this, but Portland ranks 3rd in US cities for rainy DAYS per year, at 161 on average.  Austin ranks... well.... not even among "others receiving votes" with only 79 rainy days per year on average.  So, twice as many rainy days in Portland compared to Austin.  The US average is 106 days.

Austin just tends to get heavier rainfall, when it does bother to rain.  Which is, of course, NOT right now...

It is hit and miss for sure. I have seen torrential rains here, and then watched other events just say fuck you.

No, you're right, and it speaks to the difference between my wife and I.  She cannot handle gray.  Me?  I might actually be happier when it's gray.
