To set the record straight, guiness is sub 100 calories and 4.2%. It is womens beer. I get really tired seeing the guy at the bar thinking hes cool ordering a guiness when its fucking water.

You seriously have a reaction to seeing a stranger order a beer you wouldn’t order? It’s Guinness on St. Patrick’s Day for fucks sake? I bet you’re fun at a party.

To set the record straight, a pint of Guinness has about 160 calories.

There's nothing wrong with guinness.  I get a kick out of how many people write off stouts because it's "too strong."  There's a time for big boy brews with >10 ABV.  There's also a time for smooth, easy drinking Guinness with a rich malty flavor.

The beauty of beer in general is the diversity of character and flavors.  If that's what another man likes to drink, I don't begrudge the profits generated to research a different brew/ style that i might like.  It's the circle of life and shit.

Flavor is what's important.  Not sure why anyone would think otherwise.    And Guinness is tasty.

That it has an alcohol content closer to an American light beer than an American standard lager, is a bonus in my mind.  That way I can treat it like a session beer.

But as always, folks should drink what they like.

I'm sure we were there at the same time, I shoulda known to look out for you and yell muledick to all strangers.

I wanted to try all the pilsners but the Czech Cerne is just too flippin delicious off the side-pull tap.  I did buy two cases of assorted pilsners to go and I am enjoying the tushy-licker at home right now.

Anybody have breweries/beer hall recs for Brussels? I know Cantillon and 3 Fonteinen obviously. Bruges or Antwerp as well would be nice.
