May 31, 20232 yr At this point I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out that the adult timeline is a collective hallucinated fever dream from a bunch of starving people about to die.
May 31, 20232 yr Like, Lottie's starting to see cracks in her commune, making me wonder if the truth is trying to break through. Her psychiatrist is an illusion. Maybe what the others see during their day is also an illusion? Wouldn't her fantasy be a place where people love her FOR her weirdness and see it as almost propetic, instead of in the woods where everyone just put up with her unless she was doing stuff like showing how she knows how to amputate limbs. Misty randomly finds a guy online who is PERFECT for her and willing to help with her crazy shit. Adam's murder is nicely swept under the rug with some convenient blackmail and death. Tai's a senator and yet someone never talks about her wife or child or how they are faring during all of this. Etc.
May 31, 20232 yr That finale LOL I'm going to hate watch the rest of this series like handmaid's tale

January 21Jan 21 We're peeling thru this after my SIL recommended. We like it, but I can be intense. The low and slow team feast was on par with the outlander tummy sticks in terms of uncomfortableness. Looks like s3 will drop on Valentines.
January 21Jan 21 just finished season 1 on netflix. Dont have paramount+. So not sure where i can get season 2.
January 21Jan 21 I believe only on Showtime or Paramount+ with Showtime. Enjoyed season 1. Season 2 started to nose dive a bit with the adult portion.

January 22Jan 22 I really don't want to pay for another streaming service but with this, Lioness, and the Agency all on it I guess I may have to drop something else for a while (although the end of Season 2 was a pile of burning poop).
February 15Feb 15 It’s still weird how they intro whole new characters in the woods as if they were always there. They’ve still never said how many made it back.

March 23Mar 23 We've binged into season 3... we're a couple episodes in and I need this story to get wrapped up. I really enjoy it, but it's starting to drag. Is the plan to make a limited run, or turn this into something that lasts years and years. I'm in for this season and maybe one more... after that I'm out. Does anyone know what plans Showtime has for it?
March 24Mar 24 It ramps up but it's a bit of a slog. They're just making shit up at this point and I don't enjoy the adult portions at all because it's just dumb. But my kids love it so we keep watching. The portion where they're young is much more enjoyable. There's supposedly 2 more seasons since they're just now in the 2nd summer and they get rescued 2 years after the crash. I believe they get rescued after the 2nd winter.
March 24Mar 24 I've invested too much time to bail, but I'm kind of hate-watching this show now. My complaints: I give absolutely zero fucks about what's going on in the adult timeline. Like, none at all. Especially after they killed of Juliette Lewis' character. The introduction of new survivors in the kids' timeline. We knew who survived, show writers. Sorry you ran out of ideas with the core group and wanted Shanna to have a lesbian experience in the wilderness. Lastly, NOTHING IS HAPPENING!
March 24Mar 24 Yeah, I am starting to get weary. So they .... Spoiler murdered at least one, maybe three people that happened upon them. OK. I also don't buy Charlotte axing that dude. I just don't. I think they'd be, y' know, forgiven, given what they went through, but whatever. Still wondering who HIlary Swank is. Too old to be the frog scientist's daughter. I am guessing the sister of one of the other girls. I *think* this show is trying to show Shauna break bad in both timelines, and perhaps she is the real villain. That would be a cool swerve, but I do not think it has the guts.
March 24Mar 24 I am ready for there to be more answers being given on this show and a lot less (zero) new questions being asked
March 27Mar 27 I am watching even though I don't like it. It captures the spirit of the girl power fad of the early 90s, which was shallow back then too.
March 27Mar 27 Two more seasons?! There's no way I can take twenty more episodes of this. I want to know what happens, but I might be better served just reading it on Wikipedia after the series wraps up.

April 4Apr 4 This is the penultimate. Not the finale. We'll watch it tonight but I'm a little sad that teen Shauna can't die since adult Shauna exists.

We couldn't remember some of the "new"(?) characters either, but figured there was a good chance that we just didn't remember them - this show is hard to keep track of between seasons. Still, I feel like there has always been a sort of deep bench of background NPCs that are just kind of a conceptual presence rather than featured roles with defined personalities. I still agree that this show isn't perfect, but I still enjoy it. Adult Misty is my favorite character.
April 5Apr 5 Haven’t read thread updates in case spoilers but is this season worth a watch? After the shitty end of the last season SWMBO and I checked out.

No. I made the joke with the kids last night that young Shauna has the same annoying angry face as June from Handmaid’s Tale. So now we make resting Shauna face jokes when they show a close up of her looking angry at someone. I hope the series ends with Shauna dying. The adult portion is so bad. April 5Apr 5 Yeah, the adult timeline is a shit show. I find myself checking out my phone most of the time.
April 6Apr 6 I don’t need to hate-watch another show. Too many other choices. Thx for confirming my suspicion. Yep. Stay away. Great concept. First 8-12 episodes are really compelling. But every episode after that just pissed me off. They're telling a really interesting story, but they're dragging it out.

Example, teen girls lost in woods should be a tense survival story, but the tone is as serious as a bachelorette flic.

April 7Apr 7 Those teenage girls really know how to fuckup a rescue. ..and screw you for teasing a helicopter rescue in previous previews, and it turns out it is only Frodo's copter.
April 9Apr 9 Author Feels like the cops should start picking up on the murder spree surrounding the soccer team plane crash survivors from 25 years ago
April 12Apr 12 Anyone watch the finale? I saw it early on Paramount+. Meh. No wonder Juliette Lewis bailed.
April 13Apr 13 Yeah. I am not ready to quit on this show or anything, and in some weird way, I think the messy incomprehensibility of the plotlines is part of its appeal, but the finale was a bit slapdash. Still like this show quite a bit, but wouldn't argue the issue with anyone who disagrees.
April 14Apr 14 it's alright. i hope there is a 4th season. rewatched the pilot after the season 3 finale, that was pretty interesting (especially considering they showed the "bear trap" sequence to open the pilot) In the pilot they noted that they survived 19 months before they were rescued, so this being the beginning of the 2nd winter - they aint out there too much longer. I read they sold the show to showtime as 5 seasons, but after that finale, I feel the dots were connected enough to end everything.
