June 23, 20223 yr Yeah I’m bummed for Sun for not qualifying. US Open will have Peyton Stearns though
June 26, 20223 yr Not often you see a 2 time All-American and 2 time national champion transfer. Time for Texas to go get a transfer now.
June 26, 20223 yr The departure of Kylie is disappointing, but not the end of the world. Last year, we lost 2 of our top 3 singles players in the lineup to graduation/pros and were able to repeat as champs. We're in the same situation going into next season. Next year's team still looks solid as long as no one else leaves. 1. Zeynalova (So.) 2. Chavatipon (Jr.) 3. Ovrootsky (So.) 4. A. Zamarripa (So.) 5. Rapolu (Jr.) 6. B. Zamarripa (So.)

Hate to be bearers of more bad news but... Interesting that Collins transferred. Wished her the best but there's a lot of work to be done in Baton Rouge. The Sells left the program in bad shape. Trust in Joffe- he's shown that he can consistently produce results.
June 26, 20223 yr Well shit. Joffe has no choice now, he has to take some transfers. The only freshman commit he has right now is a walk-on. This should be a very busy offseason for Joffe. Edited June 26, 20223 yr by perfectchaos007
June 28, 20223 yr @perfectchaos007 Remember when we were debating several years ago if Marlee would follow in her sister's footsteps to the Forty Acres? Glad to see her come to UT and will provide some leadership for the team. Also am hearing Texas is signing two Nicole(s)- one who has wins against Lulu Sun and Anna Turati on the ITF circuit. I'm wondering how many years of eligibility she has. I know it gets funky with the Isrealis as they do mandatory military service. Other one is Nicole Rivkin of Germany (significant wins include Sahdiieva and Malm at Baylor, Barnett ex All Big 10 member at Northwestern, and Costoulos current top 5 Junior player)
June 28, 20223 yr So it looks like Joffe knew those other players were going pro and transferring for some time.

Stearns- Joffe has known since before the semester Based on this article, it seems like the Zamarripa twins decided to go pro about a month ago. https://napavalleyregister.com/sports/womens-tennis-st-helenas-zamarripa-twins-help-texas-win-ncaa-title-go-pro/article_937a6c9a-e43b-11ec-adc5-4b4b32a07bee.html
July 5, 20223 yr Author She has a lot of NCAA postseason experience, including 2021 runner up and NCAA quarterfinals (2022) That's a good pickup.

Texas never made an announcement of her transfer, but she was quietly added to the 2022-2023 roster so I guess its official now. https://texassports.com/sports/womens-tennis/roster Maybe the Russian can be paired up with Zeynalova in some tournaments this fall as a symbol of peace and unity. lol Once both Nicole's join us in the spring, we're going to have another strong roster capable of defending their title.
August 2, 20223 yr Looks like Texas capitalized on winning back to back national titles. What went from a rebuild looks like a team now capable of winning another national title.

August 25, 20223 yr Peyton gets Alexandrova, who should kill her, but she just played a horrific match the other day. Women.

August 29, 20223 yr Stearns chose tennis over softball because the outfits were cuter 💀 😂 Edited August 29, 20223 yr by perfectchaos007

August 31, 20223 yr Alexandrova wins 7-5 on a shitty net cord. Them's the breaks at this level, she'll have more chances.
September 27, 20223 yr Nice that they got to do it for all of the 2022 team. I don't think there's a pic with all of the 2021 championship team. Fortunately there's $25K going on in Austin that Stearns, the Zamarripa twins, and Kylie Collins are in town for. Fogelman is in the photo too. Speaking of the $25K, I wonder if any of the wild cards (in both qualifying and main draws) not used on current Texas player signify a potential recruit? Also, Austin was selected to host a WTA 250 event next year on the last week of February. Will expect several of the players to get wild cards into that draw.

I have a feeling 16 y/o Clervie Ngounoue probably has her sights on going straight pro. I was really hoping we could go after Liv Hovde, but the soft spoken Texan announced last month after her junior Wimbledon victory that she would be going straight pro. Oh look, the aforementioned players play eachother first round. edit: Also nice to see Marlee Zein and Rapolu teaming up for doubles. They just faced off against eachother in singles earlier today in Ft Worth in the Texas regional final. Edited September 27, 20223 yr by perfectchaos007
