January 13, 20223 yr I think I'll see this one. https://www.indiewire.com/gallery/oppenheimer-release-date-cast-plot-details/
January 13, 20223 yr It’s hard to imagine the same director made some of my favorite movies ever (Batman begins, dark knight, the prestige, interstellar) and one of the worst movies I’ve seen (Tenet). No idea what to expect from him anymore.
January 14, 20223 yr I haven't seen Tenet yet but I enjoyed Dunkirk after I watched it the second time. I'm hopeful for this.
January 14, 20223 yr I’ve seen Tenet three times and it’s been better each time. But it’s certainly way too confusing for it’s own good.

January 14, 20223 yr Tenet is what happens when you make a movie that’s sole point is to have as confusing of a plot line as possible. He started there and worked backwards.

July 28, 20223 yr I saw the trailer, but looks like the studio is not keen on views right now. The cast has quality folk and I've got it on my list of upcoming movies but it's almost a year out apparently.
July 28, 20223 yr Our friend in Santa Fe was an extra during one of the courtroom scenes in this film. I never knew there was that much film production in the area. He gets lots of calls for extra work. He's too busy being retired. CsbEdit: He also said Robert Downey Jr was very folksy with everyone between takes.

December 19, 20223 yr This and Ridley Scott’s Napoleon with Joaquin Phoenix are the two big biopics I’m looking forward to next year.
December 19, 20223 yr I will watch it, but you can't cover Napoleon's life in a movie. Someone needs to do a Napoleonic War series.
December 19, 20223 yr This happened a couple of days ago https://www.energy.gov/articles/secretary-granholm-statement-doe-order-vacating-1954-atomic-energy-commission-decision Secretary Granholm Statement on DOE Order Vacating 1954 Atomic Energy Commission Decision In the Matter of J. Robert Oppenheimer Quote As a successor agency to the Atomic Energy Commission, the Department of Energy has been entrusted with the responsibility to correct the historical record and honor Dr. Oppenheimer’s profound contributions to our national defense and the scientific enterprise at large. Today, I am pleased to announce the Department of Energy has vacated the Atomic Energy Commission’s 1954 decision In the Matter of J. Robert Oppenheimer.

December 19, 20223 yr it's got a monster cast, so it makes sense that the teaser is mostly close-ups of murphy's face.

Looks like in one scene in it they're working on the demon core or one similar to it. The story of the demon core is pretty interesting, highlighting the hubris of man no matter how intelligent he may be.
December 27, 20222 yr Popular Post Should do well here, can’t go wrong with Cillian Murphy. I expect it’ll bomb in Japan though.

May 8, 20232 yr I've read several books on the Trinity Project and Oppenheimer and I've repeatedly thought, "Why hasn't anyone made a movie about this?" There were numerous people working on the bomb who felt that there was a decent chance that they'd set the atmosphere on fire when were doing the test. "This is the most important thing to happen in the history of the world" is not a hyperbole line. Edited May 8, 20232 yr by Beau Vine

May 8, 20232 yr This really looks amazing/epic. Didn't think they could take a story about a scientist and make it that epic, but Nolan.
May 8, 20232 yr What are the chances we won't be able to hear or understand half of the dialgoue in this movie?! Edited May 8, 20232 yr by YChang

May 8, 20232 yr saw this preview as well as one for MI: Dead Reckoning a couple weeks ago when we saw The Covenant. made me excited about upcoming summer movies for the first time post-covid! also, saw this today so this hits close to home.
