April 30, 20223 yr I like this pick a lot actually. If Dan Quinn is putting his nuts on the table saying “I can definitely work with this guy” then I trust it. He went to his pro day and worked him out personally. Edited April 30, 20223 yr by youdunnf'dup
April 30, 20223 yr Accused of sexual assault and was suspended from the team. Charges were dropped and he was reinstated. Without the off field issue some had him as a first rounder.

April 30, 20223 yr Author Sam Williams. A lot like Gregory, but not quite as accomplished at the collegiate level. Can rush the passer, shitty vs the run, off field issues. Seems like a specialist. Not sure you draft specialists in the 2nd round instead of looking for starters, but at least his skill set and speciality are a big one.

April 30, 20223 yr Chris Simms likes the pick, so now I'm totally fucking depressed.Chris Simms still thinks Zach Wilson is the Jets savior so yeah, not great Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
April 30, 20223 yr Line up Williams and Parsons side by side on throwing downs and that side of the offensive line is in big trouble
April 30, 20223 yr Author Interesting, there was some thought the Cowboys would reach for him in round 2 after Pickens and Skyy were taken. Instead the reached for Williams, but this guy fell to them and they've liked him quite a bit. BTW, he's from South Alabama, not South Carolina. Edited April 30, 20223 yr by Patrick Bateman
April 30, 20223 yr Can't claim to know much about him, but looks like a really good athlete who produced as a receiver. and a solid pick. Seems to have been picked about as projected if not a little later.

April 30, 20223 yr That’s a BAD scouting report. He’s a sleeper and will be at worst Cedric Wilson like player for the Cowboys. Actually a comp for him is Gallup. Somehow the cowboys kind of backed into a solid 3 round draft. Nothing flashy. Lots of complaints. But players that will help. Some might even be starters.
April 30, 20223 yr NFL Scout: WR Jalen Tolbert "Silky smooth athlete who has morphed into a monster over the last two seasons. Tolbert is a high-character prospect with skill elements that are dripping with NFL potential. He gave work to everyone he faced, including SEC cover corners at Tennessee. His three-sport background offers unique perspective to pull from at his position, and his route-running gives him a leg up in camp battles early on. His traits, talent and production should push him up the board, and dialing up the competitive spirit could turn him into a top-flight WR2 " Edited April 30, 20223 yr by LTtxfan

April 30, 20223 yr Seems like the cowboys like athletic tackles for their guards and that probably makes some sense, get the athletes and they’ll do better as guards. Hopefully he transitions well to guard. Linderbaum seemed real nice in that spot. Linderbaum better be packing the milkshakes as he is undersized and will be getting his shit pushed in. Smith is far better choice based on potential. Big and mean.
April 30, 20223 yr CBS Sports -- 2022 NFL Draft grades https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/news/2022-nfl-draft-grades-tracker-analysis-for-every-third-round-selection/ 24. Cowboys: Tyler Smith, OT, Tulsa Grade: A This is one of my favorite picks in this draft. This kid is a mauler who will help them at right tackle right away. He needs a little help in pass protection, but the Cowboys will coach him up. Teams loved him more than analysts and his tape showed you why. This is a really good pick. 56. Cowboys: Sam Williams, EDGE, Mississippi Grade: A- Heaviest hands in the draft at EDGE. Serious bull rush too. Needs to use a hands a bit more frequently. Thick. Burst is good but doesn't play to the long speed he showcased at the combine. Some off-field concerns. Fills a need. 88. Cowboys: Jalen Tolbert, WR, South Alabama Grade: B- Older prospect who's a fun vertical threat because of his ball-tracking ability and deceptive speed. Quality, not spectacular routes and not a major YAC weapon. Feels like a good complementary type and that's what he'll be asked to be in Dallas. April 30, 20223 yr Good size/speed combo on paper. Apparently isn't particularly good at blocking. Seems early for him, but the Cowboys have had some success projecting TE in mid rounds. I would have much preferred the dipped into the deeper DB and interior OL pool at that spot for value, or even a running back that would have staring potential a year from now.

Hope they get lucky with all their 5th Rd picks... Lot's of hyperbole here. If you didn't think it's a good pick, cool...but it's FAR from Terrible. Everything out there is basically comparing him to Shulz, who he's likely to replace as start when Shulz leaves next year(unless you think he'll be paid). This guy is an inline blocker and will be playing with Shulz game one most likely. I think they wanted Kolar, just didn't go up and get him...but acting like this is a "terrible" pick when it's a 4th round TE is a bit of overkill.
