January 21, 20223 yr RIP. He had been sick for years but its still shocking when it happens. It’s funny that I think of him being great yet it’s really based on just one album, Bat out of Hell is still fantastic to me.
January 21, 20223 yr I still chuckle every time I head the “punchline” of that song. How awesome would it have been to see him in concert back in the day. RIP
January 21, 20223 yr At a girl’s party in 1978 I was the 21st caller into an Austin radio station and won the Bat Out of Hell album. That was my intro to Meatloaf. Still love playing Paradise By the Dashboard Light today.
January 21, 20223 yr Well.. his prayers have been answered, the end of time finally arrived. Edited January 21, 20223 yr by Onboard 2.0

January 21, 20223 yr Didn’t know he left his Dallas home barefoot and in his underwear at 18 after his mother died and his alcoholic father tried to kill him with a butcher knife. Also he was Belushi’s understudy on the National Lampoon road show. RIP Meat
January 21, 20223 yr RIP, great one has past. Objects in the rear view mirror may appear closer than they are.
January 21, 20223 yr I always loved “2 out of 3 Ain’t Bad”. Damn it sucks getting old and seeing the actors and singers of your youth pass away. Oh, and 11 or 12 year old me always popped a boner during the “Dashboard Light” video. That was all we had pre-internet porn.
January 21, 20223 yr Damn, sad news. RIP big moosey. Bat Out of Hell is one of the all time great album covers.

January 21, 20223 yr I distinctly remember being blown away by his 1979 SNL appearance. Never gave a second thought to who the music act was before that. One of the last and few truly unique and original entertainers.
January 21, 20223 yr Very unique and talented individual. Will be missed. Wasn't he living in Austin the last decade or so? RIP, Loaf!
January 21, 20223 yr What a great performer. I remember seeing this as a kid. Patti Russo comes out at 8:00 and kills it. Edited January 21, 20223 yr by Post Oak
January 21, 20223 yr He looked days away from dying when he was on "Celebrity Apprentice" back in 2011.

He's just one of those people that was so uniquely talented, and boxed in, but still immensely respected. Can't help but love an entertainer that honestly doesn't care that they were painted into a corner....but damn, did they own that corner.
January 21, 20223 yr And all I can do is keep on telling you I want you, I need you But-there ain't no way I'm ever gonna love you Now don't be sad 'Cause two out of three ain't bad - Some of the greatest lyrics ever written. RIP

January 21, 20223 yr RIP, Great One ! Below vid filmed in Denton. Such great lyrics to all his songs. "And if life is just a highway, then the soul is just a car"

January 21, 20223 yr If you were a teen in the late 70's, you wore out Bat Out of Hell. Thanks for the songs of my youth, Mr. Loaf.
January 21, 20223 yr He's taking a pretty big lead out there, almost daring him to try and pick him off. The pitcher glances over, winds up, and it's bunted, bunted down the third base line, the suicide squeeze is on! Here he comes, squeeze play, it's gonna be close, holy cow, I think he's gonna make it!
January 21, 20223 yr Guy carved out a space and owned it. No one ever even tried to get a piece of that action. They knew there could only be one. Much respect. 1979 in a black Pontiac Firebird with the gold decal on the hood. Bat Out of Hell blasting out of the stereo and spilling into the streets through the T-top. I can't picture that car in my mind without hearing his voice. RIP
