I wonder if Billy and April will attend the funeral.

Comedian, game show host and three-time Emmy winner Louie Anderson has died at the age of 68.

The Baskets star passed away in Las Vegas Friday morning, where he had entered hospital earlier this week for treatment of diffuse large B cell lymphoma, a form of cancer, his longtime publicist Glenn Schwartz told Deadline.

A constant presence on stage and screen since the mid-1980s, Anderson won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series in 2016 for his role as Christine Baskets, the mother of the Zach Galifianakis portrayed Chip and Dale on the FX series. The actor was actually nominated in the category over three consecutive years starting in 2016 for his Baskets performance. Anderson also won two Daytime Emmys for Outstanding Performer In An Animated Program for Fox’s Life with Louie in 1997 and 1998.

Motherfucker.

I really feel for Chip and Dale

Damn.  He was more PG than most comedians, but I always liked his standup specials on HBO growing up.

Hope he finally makes Assistant Manger in Heaven, because that's where the big bucks start rolling in.

Damn. Funny guy. Fuck Cancer.

Wait, it was cancer? Way to go saying FU to CHF.

Odds were stacked against dying of cancer vs heart attack. RIP to a funny fatman

He was so fucking good in “Baskets”

He had the balls to go on that celebrity diving show.

I vaguely remember the Billy and April story but don’t remember the Louie Anderson connection.

My memory is that Louie was also a victim of the con man.   allegedly.

Damn. He was hysterical. He was a better wholesome comic in his heyday than Jim Gaffigan in his. No offense to Gaffigan. But Louie was a riot.

Always loved to watch him on HBO's Comic Relief. RIP

RIP, Louie.  Yep, 2022 going hard in the paint.

Yeah, I mean it sucks that it was cancer and he's dead, but damn, I would have expected him to check out years ago for other issues.

RIP Christine. Hope they have Costco in Heaven.

I just want to chime in and say fuck you 2022 and fuck cancer. RIP a very funny man.

i saw Louie perform in Vegas in like '99 and he looked horrible. i truly thought he was near suicide at that point, and expected to hear of his death imminently. i actually am very surprised that he made it this long, no disrespect. i do wonder how happy he's been over all of these years though.

No disrespect at all. John Candy died at 44, and I didn’t think Louie would live that much longer.

During my early teen years, my Dad, little brother, and I communicated almost exclusively in Louie Anderson quotes.

RIP Louie.

Pretty much anything from this routine:

My mom’s from Minnesota and sounds like Louie’s impression of his mom. This hits close to home.

I have no idea if this was planned or an ad-lib, but I've seen it at least 30 times and laughed each time.
