January 31, 20223 yr Wife and I rented an Airbnb for our anniversary weekend at the end of Feb. Just a quick getaway. Need some help on restaurants, etc. Help
January 31, 20223 yr Garden Company is good. Teague’s Tavern is good home cooking/bar food type fare.
January 31, 20223 yr Who was the poster whose family owned Royer’s? He seemed like a great guy who would donate pies for events and give discounts to fellow board members. I don’t know if he made the move from Shaggy to Surly.
January 31, 20223 yr I don't know if it's your vibe but Brazos Valley Brewing in Brenham is worth a visit. https://brazosvalleybeer.com/

He's still running the restaurant though and the food is still excellent.
January 31, 20223 yr not sure where your airbnb will be. Prost Wine bar in Round Top is a nice place to sit outside and drink wine, Lulus and Manditos are owned by the Armando's people in Houston. Also enjoy The Stone Cellar for pizza and dancing if they have a band playing There is a steakhouse in Carmine and some other spot in Burton - never been to any of them though. Plus The Kenney Store is a good spot for a burger and bands on the weekend Lots of places in Brenham close to the square

February 6, 20223 yr Truth >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LJ's. But if you want to try the worst BBQ ever created, go to Nathan's. (My dad lives in Brenham, so we go over and buy him lunch every couple of weeks.)

I have some great memories there as an adult. I get why it couldn’t survive the way they wanted. It really sucks that Drake owns it now. This location is only a couple of miles from my old beaten paths. I hope he doesn’t ruin it.
March 31Mar 31 Ant Street Inn has always been a cool spot to stay if you need something like that. Sorry if already mentioned. https://www.antstreetinn.com/
April 2Apr 2 Worst Antique Fair price hike ever. My in-laws went there a few weeks ago. They started with 2 regular margaritas that were $25 each. They left and ate somewhere else.
April 2Apr 2 Moms from my kids' school get a charter bus and go to Round Top for a day trip. Most of the women are wasted when they get back. It was pretty funny seeing these prim and proper River Oaks/HCC rich white women in their 40s all absolutely shitcanned at the pickup after day drinking for 12 hours. All wearing their uniform that includes their Kemo Sabe hats they got in Aspen. Edited April 2Apr 2 by Frank Drebin
