Two of the first 3 that they did were outstanding, Peter Bogdonavich and Lucy. I did not really care for the other one about Bonfire of the Vanities but only listened to a couple of those episodes.
October 10, 20223 yr I still need to pick up the Lucy one. I sort of faded out after the first two parts. The Bonfire one was a dumpster fire, at least as long as I could hang with it. Worst part of the Pam one is they will not be showing boobs.

December 8, 20223 yr I finally got around to starting on the TCM Pam Grier podcast thing on their youtube channel last night. Ended up burning through the first three eiposides, some 2-plus hours. Good listening so far. It's funny timing since Jennifer Lawrence just got some flack about proclaiming herself the first female action hero in movies. One of the first things from the podcast recorded months ago was that Pam Grier was the first female action hero in Hollywood history.
April 21, 20232 yr Author Leonard, are those live rounds? Seven six two millimeter. Full. Metal. Jacket.

April 29, 20232 yr Local Hero is on tomorrow at 7 pm. Knox Oyel and Gaaas. I’m a firm believer that it will hold up.
April 30, 20232 yr One of my all time favorite movies. The first 30 minutes is outstanding. Highly recommend Yeager's autobiography.
July 2, 20232 yr I recorded "Judgement at Nuremberg" last week and finally finished it today. My God what a great film with a fantastic cast. As I get older the Spencer Tracy of "Bad Day at Black Rock" and Nuremberg are quite possibly my favorite acting.A great movie but it fails to mention the afterward. Politics got back in the way once the big cheeses were convicted and Truman’s antiSemitic State Dept started delaying further trials, eventually thousands were released.
June 15, 20241 yr I'm way behind on my youtubes, but I noticed recently there is a new John Ford podcast they are trickling out. Definitely down for that one.
November 26, 20241 yr Author Programming Alert: Monty Python Film Festival this Friday night. Set thy dvr.
December 17, 20241 yr If you are a movie buff, you know the story behind this one. Should be interesting. (Tonight btw, 7pm)
January 24Jan 24 Holy shit. I just saw the TCM promo for 31 days of Oscar. That promo deserves an award.
February 23Feb 23 Great lineup of war movies tonight on TCM. Sgt York staring now. An Officer and a Gentlemen The Best Years Of Our Lives The Story of GI Joe
February 26Feb 26 Author Gran Prix starting. May well be the greatest racing movie ever, filmed in Cinerama at speed.
May 7May 7 It’s international night for tcm. —The Girls. Late 60s movie with Swedish actresses. —Purple Noon - French version of Tom Ripley. —The Vanuahing - the French original. —in the Mood for Love. - Hong Kong steamy romance —ikiru - Kurosawa on redeeming your soul. Just realized that 3 of these were original that were redone by Hollywood or British studio so that means that he other two must have had remakes
May 8May 8 In the Mood for Love… one of the most gorgeously framed and shot movie in my opinion, beautiful story too Edited May 8May 8 by YChang
May 8May 8 Man I actually saw a movie on TCM earlier this week that I had never seen before. The Beginning Or The End. It is about the development of the bomb and everything surrounding it. The cast was spectacular and seemed to have every character actor from the 40’s in it. Not historically accurate but close. Evidently the scientific community was heavily involved in production and there were many re-writes. Recommended.
May 26May 26 Great lineup tonight. Just watched Darby’s Rangers….good flick. Coming up…. Where Eagles Dare The Great Escape The Dirty Dozen Wow that is stellar.

August 27Aug 27 Not sure where to put this, but this seems right. Was hanging with the old man recently, and we watched Paint Your Wagon. Holy shit, this movie is so funny. Has nothing to do with Clint or it being a "musical." Lee Marvin is incredible, and the writing is next level.
August 27Aug 27 I enjoyed the new TCM podcast on Cleopatra. Hearing Ben Mankiewicz reflect on his uncle Joseph L. Mankiewicz’s experience with the film was enlightening. It opened the door to broader reflections—on Mankiewicz’s career, the Hollywood epic as a genre, and the paradox of a film remembered as much for its making as for its content.
