this one's easy 😊

looking for a good restaurant, north/northeast area (near AT&T center), nothing fancy, Mexican is optional.

I can't think of any place interesting for dinner along the I-35 corridor down to the turnoff for the AT&T Center (assuming you are coming from Austin).  But Toro Kitchen + Bar on E. Commerce is pretty cool.  It's about a 10 to 15 minute car ride west of the AT&T Center, but it's only 3 miles.  At that point though, you have a bunch of other options because you are close to downtown, southtown, the pearl, etc.

yeah, lots of 'highway' food around there, was hoping for something a bit more local (i.e. better). but we'll have a couple of hours to kill so can pretty much go anywhere...will take a look in the area you mentioned, thanks.

You're going to have to be more specific in what you're looking for. AT&T center is downtown-ish so you've got everything in the Pearl close. So if the weather is good you could sit outside at La Gloria. I think their food is okay, but the molcajete is always solid and you can bounce around there and check out Hotel Emma and other goings on if you have some extra time.

Damn....Asians just don't give a fuck when it comes to sex trafficking, do they?

Pro tip: be sure to cruise through the neighborhoods around the AT&T center after dark, for a real local experience.

this was the winner. really good. not the usual fare, menu reminded me of Casa Chapala. haven't had real Enchiladas Suizas in at least a decade, they were so good!

Rosario's is the spot of suizas. Great choice.
