With two Academy Award bellwethers either postponed (as was the case with the Critics Choice Awards) or diminished (the Golden Globes happened in January but were tweeted, not televised), nominations for this year’s Oscars arrived on Tuesday to jump-start a sluggish season.

The ceremony is slated to take place at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood on March 27, and will recognize movies released between March 1 and Dec. 31, 2021. See below for the full list of nominees.

meh. i've seen Dune, Don't Look Up, Power of the Dog, and Bond. i'll see Licorice Pizza at some point.

seems like 75% or more were just streaming. it's kinda depressing, really...covid pretty much killed The Movies, didn't it? 😒🙁

guess i'd root for Dune just bc i didn't know anything about it at all going in and i thought it was awesome.

Not too bad, though it's a crime that Alana Haim wasn't nominated.

My top ten for this year.

1. Licorice Pizza

2. Drive My Car

3. The Worst Person in the World

4. C'mon C'mon

5. Lost Daughter

6. Pig

7. Annette

8. Azor

9. Bergman Island

10. Dune

Haven't seen Souvenir Part II, Parallel Mothers, West Side Story or A Hero yet. The Power of Dog (which I liked and have at #14 on my list) is going to clean up.

I’m rooting for Dune

(note: I’ve only seen Dune)

Spielberg with nominations in 6 different decades, pretty good run.

Coda.. lets gooooo! I love that movie !

and the dad WILL win supporting actor

id put money on it

I'm no awards fag, but I'm shocked that The Tender Bar wasn't nominated for a ton of awards.
