Made by same folks behind Northgard and Wartales.

RPS has a pretty good breakdown, although this is saying a lot:

There's a lot to take in, but if you've been waiting for a Dune game to succeed the 1992 RTS epic that was Dune II: Battle For Arrakis, well, you better pull your head out of the sand and strap on your hydro-cycling stillsuit. The battle for this year's best strategy game is about to get spicy.

Not watching the trailer, because it doesn't matter what this game turns out to be, I'm in.

Hope it's good. I bought Northgard and liked a lot of what it tried to do but I never really got super into it. It had some flaws that really sapped the fun and flow of a game.

Hopefully they learned things in this game they can do better here.

I've had my eye on it, it's been on my wishlist for a while.

Actually, as Gurney Halleck's voice from a different Dune game (the 1992 original).

Released to Early Access Today. So you can finally buy and play it. Cost $29.99 pre-tax.

I actually think I prefer the lower resolution. Still in.

How did Riker from ST:TNG transition to the Dune universe?

After playing it, I think it was fun at first, but still needs a little time to bake.

This is an open-world survival MMO, not the 4x Spice Wars game.

Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1172710/Dune_Awakening/

Rise from survival to dominance on the most dangerous planet in the universe. Dune: Awakening combines the grit and creativity of sandbox survival games with the social interactivity of a large, persistent multiplayer game to create a unique and ambitious Open World Survival MMO.

Your journey begins on Arrakis, with its vast deserts and colossal sandworms. Meet characters from the movies and books as you follow your story across Dune. Discover new allies and enemies and exploit your relationships to uncover the mystery that lies just beneath the surface of the sands.

Choose Your Identity
Craft your identity and build your prowess, from deep character creation to skills and abilities taught by specialists like Mentats and Bene Gesserit. Declare your loyalties by what you wear and become known by what you do, whether you are a specialized master or multi-talented adept.

On Arrakis, water is life. Learn where to find it in the world, how to extract it from bodies, and exercise water discipline by maintaining your stillsuit. Choose where to craft and develop your shelter to survive sun and sandstorms. Weigh each step in the open desert against the risk of sandworms.
