Weird, just watched Stand by Me this afternoon.

or just a straight up paddle.  my mom had our carpenter make one specifically for my ass.

Took one ass whippin' from Dad one time with a pair of jumper cables.  Never, never did I cross him again.  I learned the value of work, respect and who was the boss of the barn.  Frankly, I had been acting too big for my britches and he put me back in line.  The short version, he wanted to change the reel on the combine, and I said I was going to the beach.  When I turned my back to him and took a step, he nailed me with a pair of jumpers laying on a barrel.  I'm glad it wasn't the barrel.  In fairness, after the we were done he sent me on my way with a 12 pack.  No shirts were taken off that afternoon at the beach.  He continues to drive me crazy, but it is gonna be bad times when he's gone.

I feel compelled to add an edit to this.  It is a small pleasure to be called "Sir" at the cafe or wherever, I admit to it.  So, I always give a thank you.  Then, I tell 'em we call Dad "Sir", it isn't my time yet.

Hello brother

Not me, but neighbor. His Dad was Jewish Mafia, in charge of pinball machines in Dallas. Had a huge garage - 4 cars big, at least - with 10 or 12 pinballs at any given time. Kids' bedroom was at back and above the garage. We - me, him, and his little bro - would hit the games, with the bells stuffed with a rag or whatever. Sometimes the rags would fall out, the bells would go apeshit, and the Dad would be in the side door of the garage in about ten seconds, strop in hand. We would run screaming into the kids' room and try to get under the beds, not always successfully. The Dad was an equal opportunity strop-wielder, and I got my share of big red welts.

I want to be on Keifer's team but realistically I am on Booger's team.

My mom was a school bus driver. One of her high school students made her one for a shop project. Had my name on it and holes drilled in it.

My old man used a bed slat that was handy to correct my brother once. Then went to the garage and cut a handle into one end for future reference

I worked at pretty nice restaurant in college that did this. Unlike the lady above, every customer I dealt with understood the bill had been rounded in their favor.
Still, every once in a while you would get someone who wanted to complain about it. "The Principle" of it, as they would always say, and -every- time without fail
it was some neurotic bitch over the age of 50.

That kid just had a lot of misplaced frustration for still riding the bus in high school.
