All suck if you don't get them fresh.  Chick fil a doesn't even belong on the list with their shitty waffle fries.  I'd rather eat the sandwich wrapper.

CFA's waffle fries are fucking awful.  90% of the time they are undercooked to the point of being raw.

Chick Fil A overall is awful. Their main appeal is how efficient and friendly they are. Probably to compensate for how bland and shitty their food is

Mostly agree.  Their spicy chicken sandwich will do in a pinch, though.

Is this the aggy recruiting thread?

All fries not fried in lard are terrible. McDonald’s got bullied into changing the recipe in 1990.

Beef fat/tallow, not lard. And yes, this is true.

You know who still uses beef fat? Bill Miller’s. Their bbq may be 5th rate, but seriously…their fries are how fries are supposed to taste.

It is but that’s life. I can crush their nuggs + Polynesian or sweet & sour sriracha sauce + a giant tea in a styrofoam cup at any moment.

And their shakes are damn good too

One DFW ice storm my wife took my crappy commuter car to work a nursing shift in Denton because she didn't want to get her brand new car stuck or crashed, she got pissed when she found out I took her brand new car to the liquor store that afternoon.

Yea but you probably know how to drive

Yea show us the drug addict pic today. He’s probably pushing up daisies.

Ok vegans.

You know what's vegan? Salsa. Guac. Tortillas. That right there is like half my diet.

Gimme all the multiples of three. I'm a sucker for seasoned fries. (Also vegan now that I think about it.)

Flour* tortillas are absolutely not vegan, not if they’re made correctly.  Plenty of animal fat in a good tortilla.

*edited to add flour. Corn could/would be vegan, as @achooloco points out below.

Say what now? I just had this convo with my sister (currently living in our grandfather’s small Mexican town) over thanksgiving, who laughed at me b/c I said I wanted to learn to do my own at home but was going to use Maseca. She said that’s like saying you baked a homemade cake but it came from a box.

I was pretty drunk but unless you mean the cal used for nixtamalization of the corn isn’t vegan, authentic good tortillas can definitely be made with only water, salt, and ground corn. At least according to an entire town of Mexicans that have lived there since at least mid-1800s give or take a decade.

edit: but just saying. I’d eat the fuck out of a tortilla that had lard added. I’d be all for that!

Whataburger’s fries are horrible. Too thin and never crispy. Greasy limp abominations.

Sorry. The tortillas I grew up with in a little village in Northern NM were overwhelmingly flour tortillas. Every abuelita made them with Morrell lard. I’ve posted before that a fresh tortilla, right off of the wood stove cooktop, with a little fresh manteca is a little slice of heaven. I’d be off in the arroyos and mountains playing with my friends, and we’d pop into one of their houses for lunch. 100% chance of fresh tortillas being ready for us.
I’m hungry.

Ah, yeah my bad I meant corn. Not a huge fan of flour ones but those sound damn tasty. Wouldn’t mind trying it for corn as well!

Man…it’s interesting to me how folks think about tortillas. Your default is clearly corn. My family is northern Mexican, and when I hear “tortilla,” I automatically think of flour. Yes, hot off the stove and made with lard. A thing of beauty.

Every single one of these sounds like they were created this month and put into a "classic" newspaper design.
