What is their deal? How do I get them to stop calling?

Im on the “Do not call” list, cell and home phone, and I get several calls each week asking if I want to sell my house. I tell them I’m on the “do not call” list, and that ends it, but dammit! They keep calling.
I‘ve asked the last several who they work for, and they say “Homebuyers Inc”. I’ve turned them into the FTC for encroaching the DNC list, but they keep at it (even though they say they’ll take me off when I bitch).
Are they lying about their employer?

Is there some other scam going on?

Hello!  We've been trying to reach you about your car's extended warranty.

I get at least 5 text messages a week from someone wanting to buy homes/property/etc. No idea how I got on these peoples radar but it's annoying.

My standard text response is, "Go fuck your mother."

The ones that actually reply back are pretty funny.

Tell them that you have someone knocking on your front door and you’ll be back in a second. Put the phone down and go back to doing whatever you were doing. Waste a minute of their time before they hang up.

Do Not Call registry is bogus. Turn your phone to do not disturb mode and only accept incoming calls/texts from folks in your contacts list.

I get unsolicited calls for my properties plus the additional brain damage that somebody named John owns a house in Manor and apparently his number got mis-entered as mine so I get calls on that one as well. I've offered to sell the house in Manor multiple times..

Ok, my phone is blowing up with spam calls, many of them fraud attempts. What’s the best app for blocking them?

If you have iPhone go to settings > phone > Silence Unknown callers > On

Thanks, but I’m in a job search. I don’t want to block all new callers, just the spammers.

I’m only hiring people who know how to use a phone. Sorry.
