a 4 seed is big difference in first round.  I hate the 5-12.

Sixty-five combined free throws, btw.

That is not a misprint: 65.

Miraculous coaching job on Beard's part to not have anyone foul out, especially with Cunningham DQed.

Huggy Ball fucking sucks.

Do we have a chance to land a #3 seed if we win at least one of our two remaining games and have a deep tourney run?

Great, do that against KU or Baylor instead of the last place team in the conference

Think I'm more concerned with getting in the south region than a high seed, but both would be fantastic

That was a very weird game. WV hit shots they wouldn't hit if this game was played 100 more times.

Yes.

I would think so.

They forced 8 more turnovers than they committed, +5 in FTA, +9 in shots attempted, shot 50% overall and 50% from three, got one of our rotation guys DQed but didn’t play a lick of defense.

I wonder if the seton hall loss has much bearing on our seeding at this point, after the slog of big 12 play.  I feel like we beat them more often than not if we played a series.

It will depend on which Baylor we see. I've seen them look like ass. Especially away from home. But they are athletic, they have good shooters, they can take defenders off the dribble, and they have a semblance of an interior game. If they play like they did in Waco it will be tough for this Texas team to match up.

Honestly, I'm not sure how much I care. I love this team so much. This has been such a great ride. If you'd told me at the beginning of the season they would win 10 conference games I would have been extremely disappointed, but after watching us and the rest of the Big 12 teams play a bunch this year, I am very satisfied. We're not as talented as I thought we'd be, and the Big 12 has been an absolute beast of a conference, especially the lower half, in ways I didn't expect.

I don't want to chalk these next two games up as losses, and won't. But we all know how tough Morgantown is. Shit happens. To come out with a win here is huge to me.

What a great fucking season as far as I'm concerned. I've waited 14 years to be able to say that at this juncture. Texas basketball has been such a beat down to follow for me, even at the end of Barnes' tenure, before Smart came on board. It's just night and day this year. I feel like the clouds have parted.

I said that if he can’t hit wide open 3s, then he has zero value. He hit them today. I don’t think he should play with Brock and Askew. But his only value to this team is hitting 3s. He hadn’t done that to this point in the season. He is a 3 point specialist hitting under 30%. That’s not good.

Osabuohein who I've seen air ball multiple FTs and shot 40% from the FT line coming into today went 8/9.

When he was making FTs I thought for sure Texas was losing this one.

Yea that’s great and I’m glad he hit today but he’s probably our worst player. He’s an awful defender and has a good shooting game like once a year

Is it possible for me to appreciate Febres hitting 3s today with Brock DQ'd and still not be all that excited when he gets a bunch of minutes? I'm glad he's on the roster. Not as happy when he's actually on the court. Nothing personal against Febres. It's not like I dislike the kid. I just see him as the weakest link.

JFC where in my post did I say we will win? I said if we win those two games we could move up to a 3 seed. I’m well aware we could lose both and that’s probably more likely than winning.

and that 50% FT shooter hitting like 90%.

I think it says a lot about certain players still being locked in.

Febres could have easily quit on this team the way his season has gone.

I don't think this is the own you think it is but thanks Mr. Febres!

seriously glad he showed up once.

Because the ESPN graphic was wrong, they didn't have any left. Everything about the ESPN broadcast today was not good.

I texted a buddy of mine telling him to watch Osabuohien shoot FTs in this one because he's one of the worst FT shooters I've ever seen. I saw him air ball 3 FTs in a single game this year.

So of course the dude comes out and makes 9/10 from the FT line.

early in his career my brother ran chyron's a lot.  many times it is contract work for smaller networks and schools.  that looked like a contract chryon guy on his first game. ever.

And yet, you can be sure some couch-burning moonshiner is saying to his sister-wife, "If he hadn't missed that one, we'd at least have gone to overtime."

Especially the color guys fixation with where they they had played hs, followed by a list of pro athletes from the same hs.

How do y'all think Ramey played today ??

(Had a quiet 8pts, and surprising 5 rebounds)

Not good offensively but Ramey is the one that has to chase around the opposing team's best player.

He was chasing around McNeil and Sherman all game.

My favorite was going on about Eric Snow, ending with the kicker, "Ohio State fans listening in know what I'm talking about."

Absolutely, Fran. Probably the biggest contingent of the demographic watching this game. Nailed it!

Not sure Beard is asking for a lot of points from Ramey in certain matchups -- I know against Kansas Ramey played awesome defense.

Just didn't notice Ramey in today's game -- 5 rebounds from him is great...

I haven't really kept up with the Tre Mitchell "sabbatical." Is he expected back at all this season? I assume not but am hoping.

No. He quit on the team.

the assumption is he's done.  His Dad didn't help things either.

well yeah because you would have to actually coach vs. telling your team to mug/foul the shit out of other players and dare the refs to call it.

Surprised Ramey only took 4 shots- plus some where he got fouled.

he really does seem like a guy that wants to make the right play, and this staff is way better than the previous one at teaching him what the right play is.

if he can’t carve out a career on an nba bench I hope he has a long and productive career in Europe.

If Tre is out because he's unhappy about his playing situation at Texas, then might be best if Tre doesn't return.

that's why the assumption is he's done.  my assumption is it is "game" related.  we'll see because Beard has never officially closed the door, which is the right thing to do.
