March 5, 20223 yr Carr seems to seek out situations where he gets dumb fouls called on him... Ferk !!!
March 5, 20223 yr Who is this Mike Shuhshevski these guys keep clamoring about?Apparently today is his last game. Maybe he was fired
March 5, 20223 yr Askew and bishop can’t shoot beyond a layup or a dunk yet they are the best options. Imagine how good we would be with 5 guys that can actually shoot the ball past a 4th graders range.

March 5, 20223 yr Every time we attempt to fight for a loose ball… Foul on TexasAnd Kansas can fly into our guys taking out their legs
March 5, 20223 yr I'm not a Brock fanboi, but he's not as ineffective as some of you would have us believe. And he knocks the ball out of bounds. OK, so . . .

March 5, 20223 yr OK, somebody tell me, even though we're not a very athletic team, why do we not push the fast break when it clearly presents?
March 5, 20223 yr Incredible how good we can look when guys hit shots. Let’s recruit more guys that can shoot the ball. I like those guys.
March 5, 20223 yr 6-0 run for Texas on 3pt shots by Carr & AJ !!! Tie game, just under 4 minutes left

That’s my biggest frustration with this team. Especially when you’re struggling in halfcourt offense and go on those 5 min scoring droughts. Go and get something quick

My guess is that Beard emphasizes efficient half court sets, and transition defense. I'm with you, but you'll notice we rarely attempt any shots early in the shot clock, transition or otherwise. Also, teams that emphasize the fast break in some way are usually not that good in transition defense. There's a tradeoff involved there. If you don't emphasize the fast break, and get those reps in, players get hesitant when they have an opportunity. That's my theory, anyway. It frustrates me, too.
March 5, 20223 yr I'm going to enjoy watching this game for the next 3m then switching over to the tunnel of former Duke players. @shadow_operative I'm counting on you for play by play. BTW, I think it's beyond awesome you're at this game.

It produces great shot selection and the issue has been we have some shitty streaky shooters on this team. Once we get some guys that can shoot we will be very tough to beat.

I'm with you, I think there has to be a certain amount of strategy drilled in, though. I do this with my kid, who is a pretty high level HS athlete -- "hey, when this happens, know in your head what you're going to do, you have to go through the scenarios even if you haven't seen them". Example: he was about to do his final long jump in a meet last week, and some dumbass kid walked onto the runway. Had I gotten that scenario burned into his brain, my son would have waved off his approach, told the judge "fuck no", taken 30 seconds, and regrouped. Instead, he just did his jump . . . and scratched. If the fast break is on, go for it. Regardless of coaching "philosophy". I'll stop writing now.

March 5, 20223 yr The old inadvertent whistle at a super critical time. Like fucking rock chalk clockwork.
March 5, 20223 yr This is a fuckin joke with the split screen right? No one gives a fuck about a dude walking on to a court. Get fucked, ESPN
