March 8, 20223 yr We've done this the last couple of years and it's worked out well. It's definitely a fun wrinkle to a NCAA tournament pool. You pick one team each day of the tournament to win straight-up. If they win, you advance. If you lose, you're out. You can only pick a team once so don't use the #1 seeds on the first day. The only exception to the "one pick per day" rule is in the Elite 8 round where you will still have to pick two teams, but you can pick both the Saturday games, both the Sunday games, or one of each. It's $50 to join, but tournamentpools.com does charge $1/entry, so please send me $51. PM me for paypal or venmo details. Edited March 8, 20223 yr by HornOnTheBayou

But I think last year if you’d have just used the 1 seeds you’d have won or something. Seems like we had most people flame out by Saturday- right?
March 8, 20223 yr Author Good point. If I remember right from last year, most of us trusted Rick Barnes to win a first round game. That was a mistake.

Also I think more than a couple had texas over ACU because that was a layup and you wouldn’t ever want to be picking Texas later in the tournament. Whoops.
March 8, 20223 yr i'm in. i won last year by day 3 or 4. i certainly don't expect it to be that easy this year.
March 14, 20223 yr Author You can go ahead and make your Thursday pick now. PM me for how to pay. Also, let me know your entry name if it's different than your surly screen name.
March 14, 20223 yr Author I'm a dumbass and didn't put the link to the pool in my original post. It's https://www.tournamentpools.com/pools.cfm?poolid=182847&p=2&pwd=p9nrt5. If it asks for a password, use p9nrt5.
March 14, 20223 yr I might be in - need to get a sense of how much I end up wagering elsewhere first.
March 15, 20223 yr Author There's a couple of entries I don't recognize. If you're "Mike and Glen" or "KMIK", pm me for payment details.
March 16, 20223 yr Author I just pm'ed you. There's a couple of entries I don't recognize. If you're "Mike and Glen" or "KMIK", pm me for payment details.
March 16, 20223 yr Did I pick against Marquette and also pick texas? You bet your ass I did. If I make it past this Thursday and Friday I have all sorts of options open.

March 16, 20223 yr Author OK, we've got 7 people paid and registered. Two more that should be paying soon. If you know anyone else that wants to join, tell them to sign up before tomorrow morning.
March 17, 20223 yr Author Update: we've got nine people registered and paid. I'm waiting on one more payment that should be in this morning, so that'll bring us to 10. If you know of anyone else that wants to play, tell them to register ASAP. I still haven't heard from "Mike and Glen" or "KMIK". KMIK hasn't made a pick, so I assume he's out. Mike and Glen made a pick. Hopefully they pay by the time the game the picked tips off. Good luck to everyone. And a happy March Madness to all who celebrate. I told my kids that if you've been good all year, the Bracket Fairy will leave a list of winners under your pillow at night. If you're bad, you just get a blank NIT bracket.
March 17, 20223 yr I assume you got my payment since I wasn't called out in above post. I never can win a traditional bracket but do well at NFL survivor so maybe this is my game. ..and bump to get maybe a couple of more in!

Everyone that has registered has paid, except for the two listed above. So we're at 10 now. And people can still register/pay after the morning games tipoff. They'll just have to pick one of the later games.
March 17, 20223 yr I'm in as Jim Krivacs and paid via Venmo Edited March 17, 20223 yr by Tyrone Krivacs

March 17, 20223 yr Author You should still be able to enter as long as you pick one of the late games tonight. I'll dm you payment info.
March 18, 20223 yr Author I never heard from "Mike and Glen" so I went ahead and booted him. That leaves us with 14 paid entries, which means $700 for the last man standing. Looks like by tomorrow morning we'll have either 4 or 9 left, depending on what UCLA does.

I guess I have to root for Akron.
March 18, 20223 yr I wanted to pull the trigger on Arky instead but pussed out. At least if I go out this way I go out with almost half the crew lol
March 18, 20223 yr Author Well UCLA put a scare in half of us, but it worked out in the end. On to Day 2. Everyone get their picks in. I mean everyone, except those of you who picked UConn or Kentucky yesterday.

March 19, 20223 yr Whose everyone got this weekend? I picked Arky and Tech. Feeling good about it right now in that I’ve only used 1 high seed as a pick, that’s ‘Nova, and I hate them and can’t imagine wanting to use them again.
March 20, 20223 yr 19 minutes ago, Scraps said: Lol yep...7 of us took Murray St. This could be over pretty quick if they lose I’ve got arky. So, I’m obviously a St Petes fan here. only one 15 ever made a sweet 16 right? Florida Dunk Coast?
