#11 Temple says hi!

Too soon. That was a crime against humanity as a 6/11 game.

please expound on this. making statements like this with nothing to back it up is pointless.  i find it hard to believe that a truly elite defensive team with a great tourney coach "has all the makings" of losing in the first round as a favored seed, but maybe you can change my mind with something more substantive than this ten word post you've made.

Come on. You see it every year. Higher rated seed with a bunch of top athletes loses to lower ranked team that A) has top flight guard play that breaks down said athletes or B) has a bunch of scrappy white dudes that rain 3's and hit their FTs. All the while, the more athletic team goes goes on long scoring droughts as the scrappy underdog plays some 2-3 zone or some shit that they can't figure out.

Count Texas out then!

Have you watched this team?

I feel like I’ve seen this second half collapse stuff before. But I can’t quite put my finger on it

that's not us. we don't have a bunch of athletes. brock cunningham is like our third best athlete. we have one "bad" loss (based on rankings/computer ratings) on the whole season. we play elite, top level defense, and only teams with great size on the wings and great athletes/rebounding have given us real trouble. this team has the opposite of what you say it does- this team has all the makings of beating a lower seeded opponent from a shit conference in round one. it's just doesn't have the makings of doing much
more than that.

I know there is a lot of warranted bitching about Carr but this collapse is squarely on Beard's coaching today.  He'll probably own it, as he should.

Well Beard didn't own it but he should have shared the blame.  Hope the tough comments help this team win in the NCAA Tournament...

In case yah missed this after tcu loss...

agreed.  he didn't own it at all.  he definitely was trying to send a message with the way he handled the game.  He's the coach.  we'll see if it works out for him.
