June 29, 20223 yr Good quote from Edmonds last night I'm paraphrasing, but: You can't get it close if you don't score any runs. Then when they were talking about the likelihood of some coach in Arenado's past telling him to stop being Nolan, Edmonds says something like "well, coaches tell elite athletes that all the time! I had a coach tell me..." He just likes to talk about himself. Edited June 29, 20223 yr by You don't know me
July 10, 20223 yr Author The wheels are fucking falling off and Oli gives Paul a day off (OK) and puts Pujols in the lineup at 1B AGAINST A RIGHTY. FUUUUUUUCK!!! 5 thru 9 in the lineup today are all batting below .200. Look at this shit: Edited July 10, 20223 yr by Beau Vine
July 11, 20223 yr I can't really fault him for giving Pujols a start yesterday since Philly was going with a bullpen game. I also won't fault Oli for much. I place the blame entirely on Mo. He just pisses me off. When he talks, the inflection of his voice always rises at the end of a statement, like he's asking a question. Girsch does the same thing and it annoys the shit out of me. It sounds like neither of them actually know what they are talking about. Oh, and they suck at their jobs. I don't know if the fault lies with Mo or the DeWitts, but Mo just irritates me.
July 13, 20223 yr So cool that pujols is playing here for his final year. He's like legit 45 and can still rake. It's unreal.
July 13, 20223 yr My brain breaks even more than usual to see the team rounding into the All-Star break at 0.528 but only 2 games out of 1st. What a shitshow of a division.

July 14, 20223 yr @Sbbruin Why don't you go to the 2022 Dodgers tread to gloat? This is a safe space for Cardinal fans to bitch.

July 14, 20223 yr I think this season is a farewell tour. Doesn’t seem like most of the old guard gives a crap.
July 18, 20223 yr One of my boys is going to basic training on Wednesday, so the family was going to the Cards game on Sunday. We were at our exit to Busch when they called it. Sucks.
July 18, 20223 yr Sorry to hear that. I'm not sure I've ever been to a game that was rained out. I grew up 100 miles from StL so we were pretty careful not to make that drive if the weather looked sketchy. I can't believe this team is a half game out of first at the break. I saw a stat that claimed 70% of their remaining games are against sub-0.500 teams, so they might actually have a shot.
July 18, 20223 yr Yeah, KMOX kept saying on the pregame that the weather was pushing through and the game would be played. That was right up until they called it.
July 20, 20223 yr For those that don't follow the UT threads, Dylan's younger brother is headed to Austin. 1 hour ago, UnhappilyMarried said: https://longbeachstate.com/sports/baseball/roster/tanner-carlson/5466 Played 3rd and 2nd, slashed .345/.397/.466 last year
July 22, 20223 yr Author Every fucking top prospect's name, plus Bader and Carlson, has been trending on twitter at some point today.
July 26, 20223 yr Cards have the best farm system in the league right now. Is it worth it to dump it all on a 23 year old. I dont watch the Nats for shit but is he really the next trout?
July 27, 20223 yr Well, I don't think he puts them into WS level. I don't like the idea of trading away all of your best prospects for Soto. They would have him for the remainder of this season and then 2 more. I don't see them paying him what he can get in free agency, so it just doesn't seem smart to me. Therefore, Mo will make the deal.

July 29, 20223 yr On August 13, the Cardinals will be hosting the Brewers, and also celebrating the 40th anniversary of the 1982 World Series championship. The list of expected attendees is awesome: Whitey Herzog, Ozzie Smith, Bruce Sutter, Jim Kaat, Willie McGee, Keith Hernandez, Tom Herr, Steve Mura, John Stuper, Dave LaPoint, Doug Bair, Ken Oberkfell, Mike Ramsey, Dane Iorg, Steve Braun, Glenn Brummer, Gene Roof, John Martin, Jeff Lahti, Jeff Keener, Mark Littell, Eric Rasmussen, Buddy Bates, CJ Cherre and Frank Coppenbarger If I weren't flying to NYC the next morning I'd be there, especially since my hero Mike Ramsey is expected to show (hey to @Beau Vine). No Ted Simmons (who was playing for Milwaukee by then). RIP Darrell Porter. 1982 WS celebration Edited July 29, 20223 yr by jimmyjazz
July 29, 20223 yr My parents went to game 7 while I was at home watching it on TV. As a 13 year old, I was very jealous.
July 29, 20223 yr Tickets are purchased. Taking 3 of my boys. Wife decided that she would prefer to stay at home.

July 31, 20223 yr Odorizzi just went 7 shut out innings against Seattle. You want him on that mound. You need him on that mound. on a serious note- is it Soto or bust at the deadline or do y’all have a fair bit of mound moves coming up?
August 1, 20223 yr I dont give a shit a out Soto. You can get Soto trout and judge and you still have a starting pitching staff being held together with popsicle sticks and duct tape. I think Gorman and (maybe) Carlson are future stars. Winn could be as well. Cards have the 13th highest payroll in the majors. Spend some money and get a couple guys that can start for the rest of the year. Even if they are rentals. Matz injury sucks, but I have no faith in Flaherty ever. He is the rgb3 of baseball. Glass jaw, arm, elbow, whatever. Then go all in on getting some more starting pitching in the off season. Because as good as the cards are at finding and developing position players they clearly suck at doing the same thing with pitchers.
August 2, 20223 yr Damn. Bader to the yanks for LHP Montgomery. I dont watch the American league so no clue but damn I liked Bader.
August 4, 20223 yr I liked Bader's defense, but the Cardinals really needed pitching. The moves that they made strengthened the rotation and the bullpen, so I'm somewhat pleased with their deadline deals. I'm also relieved that they didn't trade the farm away for Soto. One bat was not going to make them contenders.
August 5, 20223 yr Author T1! I didn't want to jinx it earlier, but the afternoon win really felt like a wakeup win. Stroman was killing everyone, and then a couple of guys decided Fuck Him, We're Not Losing. And then the next couple of guys bought in and took big swings and hit the ball hard.
August 5, 20223 yr Well, it's not an awful situation to be in. Remaining schedule strength: PIT: #10 0.514 MIL: #19 0.498 CIN: #25 0.476 CHI: #28 0.471 StL: #29 0.468
August 6, 20223 yr I sincerely hope y’all win 15-0 tomorrow. Montgomery vs the absolute dogshit pitcher Cashman thought could replace him. The whole world will see how goddamn stupid of a GM he is. I’m hearing Bader may not be ready for the start of next season even. Just an unreal trade. Easily the most nonsensical in history.
August 6, 20223 yr I was so glad to see dejong get sent down. Thought he had nothing left. But I'll be damned.... he totally redeemed himself!
