This movie looks kind of fucked up in an entertaining way

Did anyone see this?  I liked it.  I didn't know going in that it was set in and just outside of Houston.  It has a kind of southern gothic vibe.  I actually liked the first half better before ...

Spoiler

it turned into a slasher flick.  And really old people fucking.  Still good though.

I saw it opening night, absolutely fucking loved it. Theater was raucous the last half.

Saw it last weekend. Very much channeling a Texas Chainsaw/70s aesthetic but with the fucked up factor turned up. Enjoyed it.

Two thumbs up. Perfect blend of comedy / horror by not taking itself seriously. I didn’t catch until after that the old lady and coked up stripper were same actress.

The trailer for the prequal to this is out.  Apparently these were shot back to back.  Pearl was the old lady in X, played by the same actress in this one.

Saw X on a flight back from Montreal, absolutely loved it. Heard the podcast with Sean Fennesey and Ti West and was stoked to hear a prequel was already made. So in for this, love these types of movies

watched this for the first time this afternoon.  really enjoyed it.  i would almost agree that the first half was more entertaining than the second half when the killing started but i really liked that as well.  planning on watching pearl once this us soccer game ends.  also read that there is a third move in development that is a sequal to x and the one girl who got away.

Make sure to watch Pearl all the way through the credits

Really enjoyed X, but Pearl was incredible. I can’t remember a horror movie performance that was more worthy of an Oscar nomination with the exception of Toni Collette in Hereditary.

Absolutely insane that neither were nominated.

i agree.  watched pearl last night and damn what a great movie that was.  outstanding lead performance.
