March 19, 20223 yr Like the title says, what if it’s a nuke that goes off killing the leader who it follows and can be triggered by the other nuclear super powers? cook thought experiment and makes MAD way more interesting.
March 19, 20223 yr What about exchange the nuke for just a small explosive device and put it on a collar, a la the old Arnold Running Man movie, and then tie it to popularity in your own area. If it slips below a certain percentage (probably around 44%) it would go off. Then mandate all governments must maintain a 3 year rolling balanced budget and watch what happens.. Do this for all politicians and measure on in there expected sphere of influence. Mayor, it’s your city, Congressman, it’s your district. Gov your state, President the whole country… It would lead to some interesting changes. Lots of compromise in swing districts to force a consensus, probably heavy entitlements at the local level and limited entitlements at the state and federal level (it’s hard to balance entitlements and taxes).
