He should stop bogeying

Bold strategy, Cotton!

Looks like the point in the Masters where everyone is screwing up because they're intimidated by Tiger.  Only TIger intimidated himself.

Oof.  Charles with no es.  You wouldn't miss those if your parents sprung for 2 more letters in your name.

i thought Lowry was "Mr. just happy to be here" guy.

I think that's the food concession's motto for him.

So they made an adjustment to try and maintain the historical vision of the hole (a superior shot will be rewarded; substandard will be punished). And they are desperately trying to get the next generation to have to land at least a mid iron into the green.

Mother nature didn't play according to plan. So what? The course is a living being. That's the rub of the green and the best golfers will adjust accordingly.

Do you enjoy this set up more or those in the past?  This is such a dumb back and forth. I said I hated it. It’s less fun. I guess some of y’all like it which seems inconceivable to me but it’s a matter of taste at the end of the day. Ok. Cool. Hook ‘em.

yep.  15 is still reachable in 2, but not if the wind is howling and the ball isn't flying because it's so cold.  so be it.  supposed to be much warmer tomorrow.  guys will hit it in 2.

and yeah, Gene Sarazen made his double eagle there with a 4 wood for his second shot.  that's the way the hole was designed to play.  not driver, 8 iron.

Too small a sample size to judge.

-20 aggregate is too much.

Birdies should mean something.  Eagles should mean a shitload

you are acting like it will never be reachable in 2 again because they moved the tee back.  its 520 yards.  these pussies can't reach it?

Literally I just meant 15.  I do agree completely with everything you said though. This tournament is at its best (in my opinion) when there’s about 6-10 guys somewhere around 8-12 under entering the back 9. They’ve got to hang on through 12, hit the gas on 13-16 and then 17 and 18 are really hard holes that can be birdied with 2 very good shots.

I agree but it's not the US Open.  there have always been opportunities for more eagles at the Masters because Jones wanted it that way.

Of course, and thats why there is zero rough too.

Only 7 of 17 pars for Scottie.

He’s not going to make it 8 out of 18 here without an absolute miracle.

It’s amazing.  When I hit it in that kinda shit, I always find it, and it’s always lying perfect.  Pretty remarkable.

Correct.  He will be lucky to bogey this hole.

wow.  he's got a shot with 2 club lengths.

Scottie:  "Can I do a buncha shit here?

Yes. One in- 2 to drop and hitting 3.

thank god they cleared out all the "patrons" so that there were no shadows in Scottie's way.  🙄

That shot reminds me of me.  Except his wasn't shitty.

Pickin' another buger.  But a satisfying buger.

Where do you think the tee will be tomorrow?

Jesus, what's better than having a traditional birdie/eagle hole on Sunday bring some scar tissue from earlier in the week?

Frustrating that Scottie and Smith hit the same shanked tee shot on 18 but Smith’s bounced into the fairway and Scotties dropped into a bush

No idea. I have no idea what they are trying to do with this tournament.  Are they pissed bc the November Masters was a pitch and putt complete with clown cars and wind mills and then it got a little loose last year too?  Or do they want the traditional Sunday set up?  I hope the tees are up and it plays at 520 and you have to hit the right spot off the tee (or lay up bc you are out of position) and then have somewhere between a 4 iron and 6 iron in. That’s been what it was for pretty much all of my life watching this tournament.
hope it plays to about a 4.5 score on the day with 3 eagles and 5 or 6 others.
